I feel sad for the president- Rev. Dr. Lawrence Tetteh

Founder and head pastor of Worldwide Miracle Outreach, Rev. Dr. Lawrence Tetteh, has firmly stated his disinterest in pursuing the presidency, emphasizing his contentment with his current role. Speaking to Berla Mundi on The Day Show, he expressed empathy for President Akufo-Addo, highlighting the immense pressure and headaches associated with the position.

“I feel sad for the President, it’s headache. There’s pressure. I’m happy to be the President of Worldwide Miracle Outreach, nobody is going to elect me. I am not going to be begging anybody for votes. I speak my mind and I’m free. I don’t have to be careful with what I am going to say because people will not vote for me. I speak the mind of God,” he said.

Reflecting on the challenges faced by the president, particularly regarding the Anti-LGBTQI bill, he acknowledged the complexity of the situation.

“As we speak today, look at what the President is going through. He has a bill to sign. It is difficult for him, on one side, he is a married man, on one side, he is a father and on the natural side, he is a man of tradition who believes in progression but because of international politics,” he said.

Despite initially pursuing a career in diplomacy, Dr. Tetteh finds fulfillment in his ministry and feels blessed to be serving God.

“I was supposed to be a career diplomat. I specialized in International Relations and have the chance to lecture the course in many universities around the globe but I must be honest with you, what I do today is satisfying. There is fulfillment in what I preach. I am happy with where I am and I also thank God that one thing that inspires me is that despite all the things I have faced in life, I still found him,” he added.

People Have to Be Locked Up, Some Have to Be Shot – Reggie Rockstone on the State of the Economy

0

Hip-life artist Reggie Rockstone has advocated for a bold approach to address Ghana’s and Africa’s economic challenges, attributing them to severe neocolonialism and imperialism.

During a recent appearance on the Unkut Show hosted by rapper D-Black, Rockstone suggested a more drastic solution, advocating for the imprisonment and even execution of those responsible for the economic crisis, particularly those leading extravagant lifestyles at the expense of the population.

Expressing frustration with the political landscape, he emphasized the need for substantial change.

“Africa on the whole is moving sideways, Ghana is not doing too good, and I don’t want to hear no NPP and NDC,” Rockstone remarked.

“What would I change? Everything! They need to lock some people up. You could begin with that; that’s a deterrent. That’s the only way, black people; that’s how we rock. Especially we Africans, You’ve got to show them.Lock some folks up; some people have got to be shot,” he continued.

“In saying this, it might sound too drastic to you but do you realize how many people poverty kills? And you’ve got folks out here living the life; folks out here living lavish. Listen when somebody dies because they cannot afford hospital treatment that’s murder,” Rockstone argued passionately.

He further highlighted the gravity of poverty-related deaths and criticized the distraction of music and entertainment from pressing societal issues, urging a shift in focus towards matters of importance.

Pastor Agyemang Elvis Commissions 3 School Blocks in Oti Region

0

Head Pastor of Grace Mountain and Chief Alpharian, Pastor Agyemang Elvis, spearheaded an initiative alongside the Alpha Humanitarian projects, commissioning three school blocks in the Aglakope and Korlekope communities within the Oti Region.

In Aglakope, two new school blocks were established, while one was inaugurated in Korlekope, respectively.

Before this intervention, the schools were constructed partially from mud, lacking cemented floors, and students from kindergarten to class four were all crowded into one classroom.

Church members from Grace Mountain, along with members of the community, volunteered to assist in erecting these school buildings.

In a heartfelt post on Facebook, Pastor Agyemang Elvis shared how deeply moved he was by the plight of these students.

“When I sent a close companion on missions to the Oti Region, he preached around but sent me videos of their school facilities. My heart was broken. I quickly called him back, and we started discussing what could be done about it. Probably, God sent him there for this purpose. It looked impossible.

“I discussed with a few people how we can come together and help, of which one of them suggested it was not necessary. I ignored this counsel because he has his children in a good school in Accra. I made up my mind that I would start if I were unable to finish them, then perhaps another institution could easily complete it.

“But here we are. What we started has been completed by God’s grace. Three school blocks for two communities – Aglakope and Korlekope all in the Oti Region.

Moved by the community’s response, Pastor Agyemang Elvis continued, “What touched my heart was when the community joined in to get the work done quickly for their children. Now children will be glad to go to school, and teachers who are posted there to teach will not run from the assignment because of lack of proper facilities.”

Looking ahead, Pastor Agyemang Elvis expressed his anticipation for future projects, stating, “The next project to be commissioned is the school in Ablekuma. I can’t wait to dedicate the Ablekuma school project also, which is in progress. I pray the Lord gives us the grace to do more…”

According to a statement from the Police, they are collaborating with the Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection, as well as the Department of Social Welfare, to provide the necessary support during the ongoing investigation.

In response to reports of the marriage, Former Minister of Gender, Children, and Social Protection, Nana Oye Bampoe Addo, urged the state to take immediate legal action against those responsible for organizing the ceremony. She emphasized that the state has a legal obligation to intervene in such cases.

Speaking on TV3’s News 360 on Monday, April 1, she stated, “I am expecting that the state, the Government of Ghana, should have intervened; that is their legal responsibility.” She further emphasized that the actions surrounding the marriage are unlawful under Ghana’s Children Act, 1992 Constitution, and international conventions on children’s rights, and therefore require swift intervention from the authorities to protect the girl.

“I expect the government, the police, the Ministry of Gender to intervene…and ensure that the legal processes are initiated,” she stressed.
Additionally, she emphasized that parental consent is irrelevant, as Ghanaian law clearly stipulates a minimum marriage age of 18 years, underscoring that marriage in Ghana is only permissible for individuals aged 18 and above.

Addressing public apprehensions, the Nungua Traditional Authority provided clarity, affirming that the marriage served purely traditional purposes devoid of any conjugal obligations. Nungua Mankralo Tetteh Nii Gbotery Kofi Frankwa elucidated that the girl’s position as the second wife was a customary obligation, underlining the significance of her maintaining her virginity. He underscored the enduring traditions and cultural significance embedded within the community, emphasizing the continuity of such practices.

“This is the second wife she is almost 90  years old, can one say that the Gborbu  Wumlormo is having what concerns are being raised with her?  Obviously no.  But is a customary duty  It is a customary duty  for Naa Yomo  to perform  and that customary duty calls for a virgin

“Her childhood  has never been denied,  there are many chiefs and queens that were installed chiefs and queens  when they were even in  their mother’s belly, their rights were never taken away, indeed it enhanced and gave them certain privileges that ordinary children will not even have,” Tetteh Nii Gbotery Kofi Frankwa said in an interview on TV3.

As part of further rites, the girl, now known as Naa Ayemoede, will undergo a purification ceremony to fulfill her duties as the wife of the Gborbu Wulomo, including procreation responsibilities. Meanwhile, the Gborbu Wulomo temple clarified that the girl’s designation to one of the deities of the Ga-Adangbe group necessitated her virginity to protect her from any sexual violation.

The temple’s spokesperson, Nii Bortey Kofi Frankwa II, defended the practice, stating that it aligns with Ga-Dangme tradition and spirituality, urging critics to seek deeper understanding before passing judgment.
