He connected the lack of progress to the nation being marred by the blood of the innocent. In a church service, Prophet Oduro spoke to the congregation about the sorrowful passing of Deputy Finance Minister John Kumah, conveying a somber sentiment.

“A nation that is 67 years is ready to poison people to death. They’re ready to do so. What are they looking for? Power. How sure are you about that power? Who said you will win the next election? Who said NPP will win the next election? It is God who makes leaders.”

The religious leader continued to condemn political violence, pointing out its impact on families and chastising those orchestrating harm to politicians. He urged caution, stating, “You are already killing people’s fathers and their husbands? Look at the pain you have caused this young lady pastor. The wife of the MP is a woman of God. You went to touch the anointed of the Lord when the Bible says touch not my anointed and do my prophets no harm.”

Prophet Oduro continued to emphasize how petty politics and the targeted killing of politicians have negatively impacted Ghana’s economic struggles and developmental hurdles. He referenced historical figures like J.B. Danquah Adu and J.B. Danquah senior, portraying them as victims of political violence.

He expressed his frustration, stating, “I’m telling you why up till today, Ghana is crawling. There is blood on our hands; blood of innocent people, including J.B Danquah Adu, J.B. Danquah senior, and the blood of our fathers who we kill by petty party sentiments, political sentiments. You kill somebody’s husband. And it’ll shock you that the people that are writing ‘oh honorable rest in peace’ are the masterminding orchestration behind the honorable.”

Prophet Oduro concluded his sermon with a stern warning: “Be very careful because if you’re not, you can die.”

Meanwhile, Lilian Kumah, the wife of the late John Kumah, rejected rumors of poisoning in an interview with Accra-based Asaase radio. Anti-Gay Bill Debates: The West needs Ghana, American businesses will not leave Ghana because of profit- Sam George

0

MP for Ningo Prampram, Samuel Nartey George, popularly known as Sam George contends that American companies operate in Ghana primarily for profit rather than LGBTQI issues.
He asserts that the attractiveness of Ghana for businesses lies in its profitability, and if any companies decide to depart, others will readily step in to capitalize on the profit potential.
Speaking on the Hot Issues on TV3, Sam George emphasizes the importance of recognizing Ghana’s self-worth and rejects the notion that American businesses would leave Ghana solely due to LGBTQI concerns.

“The West needs Ghana,  American businesses operating today in Ghana are not doing so because of LGBTQI, they are doing so because of profit and they will not leave Ghana because of LGBTQI when they look at their profit margin.

“If they choose to pack bags and baggage and leave any other company will come, Ghana is a profitable country to do business in. We must stop cheapening ourselves and making it look like we have no sense of self-worth,”he said.

This statement comes on the back of the recently passed Promotion of Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values Bill on February 28. There are concerns about potential sanctions from the West. The Ministry of Finance has highlighted significant financial implications, estimating a potential loss of US$3.8 billion in World Bank Financing over the next five to six years if President Akufo-Addo assents to the anti-LGBTQ+ Bill.

Wendy Shay Exposes Industry’s Dark Side: Male Artists Demanding Sex for Collaborations

Singer, Wendy Shay, born Wendy Asiamah Addo, has revealed that certain male musicians are demanding sexual favors from female artists in exchange for collaboration opportunities.

The ‘Uber Driver’ singer brought attention to the challenges confronting female musicians, highlighting situations where established male artists reject collaboration requests from women and, in some instances, insist on sexual involvement.

In an interview on TV3’s International Women’s Day edition, Wendy Shay noted that the music industry is mostly male-dominated, and women often face rejection when trying to collaborate. She emphasized the importance of female artists persevering through these challenges.

“This is a male-dominated industry where women are mostly overlooked. There is this rejection on the path of women. We actually get rejection from our male counterparts when we really want to have a feature.

“You see them feature a normal male upcoming artiste but an established female artist would like to have a feature from another male artist and they want to be sexual so these are some of the things that women face and have to go through in the industry,” she stated.

In her effort to support emerging female artists, Wendy Shay stated, “I use my platform to push and encourage them. Post their videos and all. I wish I could do more which I would financially.”

She strongly advised women to enhance their potential and increase their self-value.

0

Rapper Okyeame Kwame has shared his view on the anti-LGBTQ+ bill, expressing that he’s not concerned about the LGBTQ aspect but is worried that the bill also criminalizes fellatio.

He believes the nation should address pressing matters such as corruption and education reforms. In an interview on UTV, he mentioned, “To be honest with you, I saw the bill in my school group but I refused to read it. However, I heard that if the bill is passed into law, even if your girlfriend or partner gives you a blowjob and someone reports you, you’ll be in prison for 3 years, and if a friend of yours is part of the LGBTQ+ community and you don’t report them and you are arrested, you’ll be jailed for 3 years.”

He further stated, “The question is, if you’re bent on punishing the LGBTQ+ community, what has oral sex got to do with anything? I think that where we’ve gotten as a nation, I would’ve rather dealt with corruption, I would’ve rather dealt with education reforms if I was in that position.”

Meanwhile, the Promotion of Human Sexual Rights and Family Values Bill, commonly known as the anti-LGBTQ bill, was passed by Parliament on February 28, 2024, criminalizing LGBTQ activities and imposing jail terms of 6 months to 5 years, with sponsors and promoters facing 3 to 5 years in jail.
