I was homeless in London, I slept in a car – Sonnie Badu reveals

Gospel musician, Sonnie Badu candidly shared the challenges he faced during his initial trip to the United Kingdom.
Upon the urging of a pastor to support God’s mission in the UK, Sonnie Badu found himself in a distressing situation, feeling devastated and alone after being expelled from the pastor’s residence.

In a heartfelt account delivered as motivation to a church congregation, Sonnie Badu revealed the unbearable life he led, struggling to find a meal each day and resorting to homelessness, including sleeping in a car and enduring nights on the cold streets of London.

He confessed to the desperate measures of stealing food from others’ fridges when they were away. Recounting his difficult journey, Sonnie Badu expressed, “I have struggled in life. I was homeless in London. I slept in one car for a while. Sometimes I have to walk in the cold for five hours at night. At some point I would wait for people to leave home then I would steal some food items from their fridge. I was finding it difficult to feed.”

In a video posted by the Instagram account @thosecalledcelebss, the ‘Baba’ hitmaker candidly contemplated his predicament, openly questioning God’s presence in his life. He pleaded for a change in his situation, all the while maintaining unwavering faith.
He stated, “So, I told God is this how he is going to watch me suffer. Can he not bless me with just a song to change my fortunes? Is this how I am going to sing for pastors to use me anyhow? But if God remembers you, he as remembered you. I never lost faith in him.”

Sonnie Badu emphasized that these life struggles became the inspiration behind many of his songs, illustrating how his journey from homelessness to success shaped his music and his unwavering faith in God.
