The weekend’s plush wedding has made some people’s own look like our day – Diamond Appiah shades

0

Controversial figure, Diamond Appiah recently criticized fancy celebrity weddings, specifically pointing out Sena Agbodza and Animwaa Sampong’s big day as the most over-the-top. Without naming names, she hinted that weddings of people like her ex friends, Afia Schwarzenegger and Tracey Boakye seemed small compared to the Agbodza-Sampong bash, suggesting it’s all about having loads of money.

Animwaa Sampong, daughter of Ernest Chemist, and Sena Agbodza took weddings to a whole new level in Accra. They hired experts from Lebanon to make their wedding a real-life fairytale: they set up a fancy dome from scratch on a piece of empty land in Airport Hills.

But that’s not all. Guests got a VIP treatment with golf carts chauffeuring them from a designated parking area to the main event. And after the ceremony, the party continued with a ritzy lunch at Labadi Beach Hotel, where Accra’s high society showed up to celebrate.

Snapchat influencer Sarah Lawson flaunts her newly acquired butt

0

Snapchat influencer and businesswoman Sarah Tartey Lawson, aka STL or Sarah Lawson of Lawson’s Apparels, recently made a comeback, showcasing her revamped backside after a brief hiatus.

The initial buzz started with a mysterious blogger named Selthebomb, who labeled her “Nicki Minaj” hinting that she had joined the big butt trend.

Setting the record straight, Sarah explained that her absence was due to health reasons and reassured fans of her return once fully recovered.

Now back online, Sarah proudly displays her enhanced backside, leaving followers eager for the juicy details about her transformation. She’s teased about sharing the ins and outs of the entire process, from choosing the procedure to navigating the recovery journey.
Interestingly, Sarah revealed that after making headlines with the purchase of her 6-bedroom house, she used the remaining funds to invest in enhancing her backside.

The Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) is a trendy cosmetic procedure that uses your own fat, taken from places like your belly or thighs, and injects it into your buttocks to make them fuller and shapelier. It’s different from using shots with foreign objects, which is generally not as good. Overall, the goal is often to enhance different body parts like breasts, hips, and buttocks. Sarah is yet to open up on which option she chose.

There’s a noticeable cultural shift, particularly in the era of the Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), where influencers and celebrities are increasingly open about their experiences with procedures like shots and BBL. Aba Dope, a TikTok star, boldly acknowledges going under the knife to enhance not just her backside but also her face and bleaching her skin.

Notably, influential figures like Blac Chyna, Cardi B, and others have openly admitted to reversing their cosmetic choices, opting for removal procedures of previous injections and shots.

What makes this trend even more intriguing is its global impact. While well-known figures in the West are choosing to remove enhancements, the trend has now caught on in places like Nigeria and Ghana.

“For instance, somebody like Emma Morrison. Emma had something that I loved and it was always my ambition that I want to be better than Emma. I want to take up Emma’s slot.” She narrated adding that she would always go and ask Emma if she needed anything or if she was hungry.

“It was deliberate, I was being an opportunist,” she said.

She extended her advice to senior staff, instead of subjecting young professionals to servitude, she advocated for active contributions to their growth, nurturing their careers and talents.

You cannot send an intern to go and buy food for you – Nana Aba Anamoah

0

In Ghanaian workplaces, it’s a common practice for interns to handle errands, such as purchasing food for the staff. Unfortunately, this often results in interns missing the valuable learning experiences they anticipated during their internships.
During an interview on 3Music TV, Nana Aba Anamoah firmly asserted her position, stating that she does not allow staff to turn interns into their food buyers.

“Liberation is an absolutely great thing and I’ve heard people say ‘oh this generation they’ve had it easy, they come one two months and they want to be stars. They want the easy way out.’ Why not? The fact that we struggled 10, 15 years ago doesn’t mean that they should be struggling  now.

Nana Aba underscored her commitment to supporting the younger generation, “You got into it because you want to make life better for this generation. And so when I was a news editor and general manger for instance,I would always have issues with a staff who’d disrespect an intern. And it was a rule ‘you cannot send an intern to go and buy food for you’. The fact that you were buying food for somebody 5 years ago doesn’t mean they should buy food.”

Recalling her time as a young newsreader at TV3, Nana Aba Anamoah shared her experience.

“When I went to TV3 as a young person reading the news, no, you’ll not dare tell me to go and buy you food. I saw others going to buy kenkey for senior reporters and news editors . No, I won’t do it because in my house my father doesn’t even send me to buy anything. My mom won’t send me to go out and buy something so who are you to tell me to go and buy you waakye? I will not go. I will simply not go.

She continued, “And if you realize that I am going to buy something for somebody then it means that I’ve found an opportunity and I’m very opportunistic.I like to use people , positively. For instance somebody like Emma Morrison. Emma had something that I loved and it was always my ambition that I want to be better than Emma. I want to take up Emma’s slot.” Nana Aba added that she would regularly approach Emma, asking if she needed anything or if she was hungry.

“It was deliberate, I was being an opportunist,” she emphasized. Yet, she acknowledged that this approach led people to conclude she was disrespectful, and she remained indifferent to their opinions.
Nana Aba advised that senior staff, instead of making young ones serve and suffer, should actively contribute to building their careers and talents.

Go to Canada and see – Hawa Koomson defends Cost of Rent in Ghana

0

Mavis Hawa Koomson, the Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture, has defended the cost of rent in Ghana amidst growing complaints about the high cost of living.

In a recent interview on Onua FM’s morning show, Yɛn Nsɛmpa, with Nana Yaa Brefo and JB, the Awutu Senya East Member of Parliament urged Ghanaians to compare rent rates between Ghana and Canada.

She highlighted her recent visit to Canada, emphasizing that renting even a single room there could cost over 2,000 Canadian dollars per month, significantly more expensive than in Ghana.

“People have been complaining that rent is expensive in Ghana. They should go to Canada. For a month, you pay over 2,000 Canadian dollars. That’s for a single room, not even a chamber and hall.

“Things are hard now, and there is a high cost of living everywhere, and when you compare Ghana to other countries, Ghana is doing far better,” she said in Twi.

She argued that despite global economic challenges, Ghana remains comparatively affordable, attributing this to the government’s efforts.

Responding to criticisms that living conditions in Canada surpassed those in Ghana, Koomson disputed the notion, asserting that the cost of living in Canada isn’t necessarily better.

She defended the government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, citing the distribution of food items to citizens as a crucial intervention.

Hawa Koomson explained that unlike in Canada, where stipends were provided, Ghana opted for food distribution due to limited resources.

Shatta Wale is a broke ass musician- Sally Mann fires

Entertainment pundit, Sally Mann strongly criticized dancehall artist, Shatta Wale, accusing him of frequently flaunting his wealth and consistently attacking women.
Mann went on to say that Shatta Wale is broke, emphasizing his struggle to secure high-paying gigs and his frequent involvement in low-budget shows.

According to Mann, Shatta Wale’s performances are confined to local audiences like the Nima Boys and Girls, and she suggested that he can only afford such shows with his limited resources. Mann threw down a challenge for Shatta Wale to independently finance an interview on Ellen Degeneres’ show, questioning the feasibility of his dream to be featured on the popular program.

Sally Mann commended Black Sherif, drawing attention to his remarkable success in the entertainment industry within a relatively short timeframe. She highlighted Black Sherif’s achievement of making it to the BET awards, showcasing him as a positive example in contrast to Shatta Wale’s perceived shortcomings.

‘I polished Shatta Wale up for you to like’ – Michy tells Efia Odo to the face

0

Michy has once again emphasized the ‘irreplaceable spot’ she occupies in the life of her ex-lover, Shatta Wale.

She made this known while settling scores with popular Ghanaian socialite, Efia Odo, who also allegedly dated Shatta Wale shortly after his relationship with Michy went sour.

The dancehall musician and Efia Odo have on several occasions dispelled their rumoured love affair.

Despite several pieces of evidence that surfaced on social media, the two have always claimed their relationship had no strings attached.

However, in a reality TV Show dubbed ‘GH Queens’, Efia Odo admitted to once being Shatta Wale’s lover while recounting how Michy did not mean as much to Shatta as she always claimed.

Michy, in a bid to defend her spot, recalled her humble beginnings with Shatta Wale and how she ‘built him up’ to be a better person.

“Where I met this man, you wouldn’t have liked him. We polished him up for you to like. He is not my husband; he is everybody’s man. He holds me in high esteem, forget that he has been a bastard sometimes, but we built something together.

“He always had that in his mind. You came jumping from somewhere to somewhere in this industry. Unlike you, I cannot be associated with any number of male artistes in this country, and the way he talks about you, you don’t wanna know,” Michy stressed.

Efia Odo, who was peeved with Michy’s utterances, decided to hit back.

“You don’t know who I’ve dated or where I’ve been. You’re not the only one who has been with someone who was not it. And the way he talks about you, you don’t wanna know Michelle. Let’s not go there,” Efia Odo emphasized.

Efia Odo and Shatta Wale’s close relationship stirred rumors of a secret love affair.

Over the years, there have been instances where these two have been spotted together in a compromising situation but Efia Odo always insisted that they are nothing more than just friends.

Efia and Shatta Wale had a great relationship until their fallout sometime in 2020.

This was after claims that Shatta Wale had stabbed her in the back by ‘stealing’ her business partner.

Ghana music is not at a standstill – Appietus Debunks

0

Esteemed Ghanaian music producer, Appietus, dismisses claims of stagnation in the local music scene, asserting that creativity cannot be forced.
He advocates for the natural evolution of musical expression, refuting the notion that the absence of constant song releases signifies a standstill.
“You cannot say the whole machinery has come to a halt because some artistes have not released newsongs,” he said.

Speaking on Accra 100.5 FM’s Akwaaba, Appietus criticized the misconception by some entertainment journalists and pundits who overlook the creative process, emphasizing that, like fruits, artists and their music have unique seasons.

“It takes hard work and if they rush to put out a song, they will again be mocked for releasing a song of poor quality,” he noted.

He underscored the importance of allowing musicians the space to follow planned schedules, highlighting the potential impact on their health if rushed.

How Do We Promote Konekt Album After Insulting Us – Nana Romeo To Shatta Wale

0

Media personality, Nana Romeo has questioned Dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale, over his decision to use the media to promote his newly released “Konekt” music album.

According to him, Shatta Wale sometime ago disrespected the media by claiming that he does not need the media to flourish in his music career.

He questioned Shatta Wale’s manager, Sammy Flex, on why he is embarking on a media tour to market his artiste’s “Konekt” album after he disregarded the same platform a while back.

Shatta Wale accused the media of brainwashing some individuals to despise him.

“You came nicely but most of you [Shatta Movement fans] were brainwashed with the media so you didn’t see when the ship capsized and how I brought it back on this water and still have it moving to date.”

Recently, Shatta Wale’s manager, Sammy Flex went to Asempa FM for an interview and promotion of Shatta Wale’s “Konekt” album. This triggered Nana Romeo’s criticisms of the Dancehall artiste.

Speaking on Accra FM monitored by GhanaWeb, Nana Romeo chastised Shatta Wale for his despicable comment about the media stating that his actions baffle him a lot.

Shatta Wale once said he does not need the media because they have not helped him. If that is the case, then why is his manager embarking on a media tour to market his project?

“Shatta has insulted the media on several occasions so why is he using the same media to sell his project [promotion of his Konekt album]? It baffles me,” he said.

Nana Romeo also called on Shatta Wale’s manager, Sammy Flex, to admonish his artiste to apologize to the media for his disrespectful behaviour.

“I think his manager should talk to him to apologize to the traditional media for his misconduct.”

Don’t marry women who can’t place you on a monthly allowance ─ Daddy Freeze advises men

0

Male celebrity Ifedayo Olarinde, better known by his stage as Daddy Freeze, has counseled men against dating women who are unable to provide a monthly allowance.

“Enough is enough,” he said, urging them to continue marrying “hungry” ladies.

Before deciding to get married, men should be brave enough to ask women for what they can give them, according to the divisive OAP.

Daddy Freeze recently told supporters during an Instagram live session, “Stop marrying girls that are hungry.” It’s got to end! Ask a female, “What are you going to do for me?” before you tie the knot. Ask away. Begin acting audaciously. “How much are you paying me as allowance each month?” ask her.

“Any woman that cannot give you a monthly allowance is not worth your time. Stop marrying beneath you. Adenuga’s child will marry Dangote’s child. Have you ever seen any Adenuga’s child marry a bricklayer? Do you know who Dangote’s daughter married?

Her son, a former Inspector General of Police, married her. Then, as a whole man, you will wed someone who makes half of your income or who finds it difficult to make ends meet. If your monthly income is N10,000, try to find a woman who makes N30,000. Along with being attractive and curvaceous, the woman must be an excellent bed partner. Is that not how they rank us?

Ashis warns: Without unity, politicians will continue to exploit creatives

0

Artist manager, Nana Poku Ashis, raises concerns about the growing participation of Ghanaian creatives in political campaigns.

During a recent interview with Graphic Showbiz, Ashis urges creatives to be cautious about aligning with politicians who exploit them for campaign purposes without genuine concern for their well-being. He emphasizes the need for the Creative Industry to unite and advocate for their interests, as politicians often overlook them after gaining power, using their popularity solely during campaigns

“It is about time players in the Creative Industry come together as one voice to fight for a common goal because politicians have taken them for granted for far too long.” He emphasized that creatives are typically sought after only during campaign periods, and their concerns are often overlooked afterward.

Taking a firm stance, Ashis declared, “Until a presidential candidate can convince me that he has our interest at heart and is willing to implement policies that help creatives, there is no way I am voting.”

He encouraged others in the industry to adopt a similar stance, believing that a collective approach would compel politicians to take the concerns of creatives more seriously.

He further highlighted the importance of the creative sector in the country’s development, asserting that engaging in political campaigns could risk creatives becoming mere mouthpieces, diminishing their meaningful contribution to social discourse.
