Marriage is Not a Trap – Real Warri Pikin Calls Out Abuja Men for Avoiding Marriage

Nigerian comedienne Anita Asuoha, known as Real Warri Pikin, has criticized single men in Abuja for avoiding marriage.

She expressed frustration over men preferring baby mamas instead of committing to marriage, despite women being ready to settle down.

In a recent video on her social media accounts, she noted that these men often claim they are emotionally unavailable for marriage. She emphasized the numerous complaints she receives about the challenging dating scene in Abuja.

Speaking in Pidgin English, she questioned, “Abuja men, what is happening to the dating pool in Abuja? I heard that you have scattered it. You people are not ready to get married, you people are not ready for commitment. You meet a responsible girl working her 9 to 5, then decide to make her a baby mama.”

She criticized men who prefer having children out of wedlock to getting married, stating, “They say, ‘I just wanna have a baby by you, you’re so intelligent, I like you a lot. Have a baby for me.’ Is she a laboratory? Or chemical solution? Have a baby by me! Abuja men, the information reaching me is that you people don’t want to settle down although the girls are ready.”

Despite women’s readiness to marry, she noted that men remain opposed to it, often using the excuse of being emotionally unavailable.

She argued, “The girls are ready to get married but the only thing you tell them is ‘it’s not you, it’s me. I cannot love you the way you deserve right now. I’m not emotionally available.’ But you’re available to have premarital sex with her. Aren’t you tired of being outside?

“These girls are complaining. They are ready but you said no, you’re outside, saying marriage is a trap. You’ve redefined marriage. God’s own institution, you’ve redefined it—‘marriage is a trap, marriage is not good’. That is the narrative and the agenda they’re pushing.”

She highlighted that many people, including herself, enjoy their marriages, adding that she met her husband in Abuja.

“Many of us are enjoying our marriages. What is happening, Abuja men? You get a serious girlfriend who understands you and is willing to stick with you through thick and thin, whereas all you have in mind is to impregnate her, with no plans to marry her.

“Forget the saying that there are no good women out there because there are so many of them. I met my husband here and got married. I’ve been married for 11 years, and marriage is sweet. I’m calling you guys out today because it’s not funny anymore. Marriage is a beautiful thing,” she said.

Real Warri Pikin achieved her dream wedding in June 2023 by remarrying her husband, Ikechukwu.

Only fools stay married; I am one of those fools – Real Warri Pikin

Nigerian comedian Anita Alaire Afoke Asuoh, better known as Real Warri Pikin, has recently offered her insights into marriage, revealing its intricacies and hurdles.

In an interview with Doreen Avio, she spoke candidly about her own marriage journey, emphasizing the mixture of trials and joys she’s experienced. Despite the difficulties, she proudly embraces the commitment to her marriage, likening it to life itself—a blend of difficulty, sweetness, and exhaustion that requires patience and effort to navigate successfully.

Real Warri Pikin expressed frustration with the misconception that marriage is inherently flawed, asserting that it’s a divine institution that demands mutual effort from both partners. She criticized the trend of opting out of marriages at the slightest disagreement, emphasizing the importance of forgiveness and perseverance in building a lasting relationship.

“Marriage is difficult, marriage is sweet, marriage is tiring, marriage is exhausting, marriage is beautiful. That is life,” she described.

“One narrative people push that vexes me is that marriage is not a good thing. It’s beautiful. It’s God’s own institution. But people expect it to just be good.

“Marriage is work. Both men and women must work to make it successful. Both of them must have the mentality to make the marriage work and not opt out over the slightest misunderstanding.

”This generation is fond of opting out of marriage at the slightest misunderstanding they have with their partners. You can forgive your father, your child, or your sibling, but when your partner offends you, you find it so hard to forgive him or her. Marriage is not an easy journey..only fools stay married, and I’m one of those fools because I want to make sure my marriage works and not opt out whenever there’s a little misunderstanding,” she added.

First Recipient of Genetically Modified Pig Kidney Transplant Dies Two Months After Surgery

0

Richard “Rick” Slayman, 62, the recipient of the first-ever genetically modified pig kidney transplant, has passed away two months post-surgery, according to the hospital where the groundbreaking procedure took place.

Suffering from end-stage kidney disease, Slayman underwent the operation in March. Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) stated that there is no evidence linking his death to the transplant. Despite previous failures with genetically modified pig organs, Slayman’s surgery was celebrated as a historic milestone.

Apart from kidney disease, Mr. Slayman battled Type 2 diabetes and hypertension. In 2018, he underwent a human kidney transplant, which began to deteriorate after five years.

However, after receiving a pig kidney transplant on March 16, his physicians confirmed that he no longer required dialysis as the new organ was functioning effectively.

“Mr Slayman will forever be seen as a beacon of hope to countless transplant patients worldwide and we are deeply grateful for his trust and willingness to advance the field of xenotransplantation,” MGH said in a statement.

Xenotransplantation is the transplanting of living cells, tissues or organs from one species to another.

MGH said it was “deeply saddened” at his sudden death and offered condolences to his family.

Mr Slayman’s relatives said his story was an inspiration.

“Rick said that one of the reasons he underwent this procedure was to provide hope for the thousands of people who need a transplant to survive,” they said.

“Rick accomplished that goal and his hope and optimism will endure forever.

“To us, Rick was a kind-hearted man with a quick-witted sense of humour who was fiercely dedicated to his family, friends, and co-workers,” they added.

While Mr Slayman received the first pig kidney to be transplanted into a human, it is not the first pig organ to be used in a transplant procedure.

Two other patients have received pig heart transplants, but those procedures were unsuccessful as the recipients died a few weeks later.

In one case, there were signs the patient’s immune system had rejected the organ, which is a common risk in transplants.

Final-year junior high school students across the country will encounter three new subjects in this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) for School Candidates.

These subjects include Career Technology, Creative Art and Design, and Arabic. Career Technology and Creative Art and Design, formerly part of Basic Design and Technology (BDT), are mandatory for all candidates, while Arabic remains optional for candidates in Islamic schools.

To accommodate these additions, the 2024 examination will span six days instead of the usual five, starting on Monday, July 8, 2024, and concluding on Monday, July 15, 2024. John Kapi, Head of Public Affairs at WAEC, emphasized that the government determines the examination’s content, with new subjects introduced as needed. Registration is complete, and WAEC is now organizing candidate breakdowns and finalizing logistical details. Sample questions have been distributed to schools and posted online, with printing set to commence shortly.

For the first time, Arabic will be examined at the BECE, categorized as an elective available to proficient individuals seeking certification. The official timetable reveals the examination schedule, including subjects to be taken each day from July 8th to July 12th, 2024.

Before registration, the Ghana Education Service outlined mandatory subjects such as English Language, Mathematics, General Science, Social Studies, Religious and Moral Education, Career Technology, and Creative Art and Design, with Ghanaian languages classified as electives. Kumawood actor and media personality, Akwasi Boadi Akrobeto has responded to critics who suggest he undergo nose plastic surgery due to his prominent feature.

While on the Real News show on UTV, he expressed amusement at the notion that his nose size would bother others and highlighted its benefits, such as enhanced breathing capacity. He explained that his nose allows him to breathe in “more air” than the average person, which he views as an advantage.

Akrobeto emphasized the importance of prioritizing health over appearance, stating, “I breathe easily… I cannot get sick. I don’t even need oxygen at the hospital. I can breathe lots of air.” He also spoke about the inevitability of death, noting, “No matter what, you will die in life… it’s okay to look good, but you can die anytime.” Akrobeto referenced Michael Jackson’s cosmetic procedures, emphasizing that despite enhancements, mortality is unavoidable. He concluded by suggesting that one should focus on living a healthy life rather than worrying about cosmetic changes.

Sarkodie Would Have Boosted His Publicity If He Had Declined Bob Marley’s ‘Stir It Up’ Remake – Blakk Rasta

Media personality and singer Blakk Rasta stirred controversy with his remarks about Sarkodie’s remix of Bob Marley’s ‘Stir It Up’ song.

Despite Sarkodie’s humility in admitting he felt undeserving to remix the legendary reggae icon’s work, Blakk Rasta labeled the remake a “desecration.” He argued vehemently that Sarkodie should have respectfully declined the opportunity, citing the song’s deeply personal significance to Bob Marley and his wife, Rita Marley.

In his interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM, he acknowledged his liking for the remake but strongly condemned what he termed as “desecration,” citing his adherence to principles. He challenged Sarkodie’s involvement, questioning whether he was the “betweener” of Bob and Rita Marley’s marriage. Blakk Rasta emphasized the spiritual dimension, asserting that Sarkodie should have stayed clear of Bob Marley’s music, especially without precedent for such remixes.

“It was a love song made for Bob Marley’s wife, Rita Marley. It was a personal song. What does Sarkodie want? Is he a betweener? Is he the betweener for Bob Marley and Rita Marley? These are spiritual things, stay away from the man who is dead’s music. Especially that he didn’t have a precedence.

He continued, “Imagine Sarkodie had said no to this collaboration and it had come out that Sarkodie was supposed to be in a Bob Marley Song and Sarkodie said no he is not worthy of even lacing the shoes of this man like John The Baptist said about Jesus, his name would have been all over the place.”

Astronomers Finally Discover Rocky Planet with Atmosphere

0

After years of relentless search, astronomers have finally stumbled upon a rocky exoplanet beyond our solar system boasting an atmosphere—a critical feature deemed essential for supporting life. However, this newly discovered world, with its infernal landscape of molten rock, dashes any hopes of habitability.

According to researchers, the planet identified as a “super-Earth”—a rocky behemoth larger than our own planet but smaller than Neptune—orbits dangerously close to a star dimmer and less massive than our sun, completing a blistering orbit every 18 hours or so. Infrared observations from the James Webb Space Telescope have unveiled the presence of a substantial yet harsh atmosphere, likely sustained by gases emitted from a vast ocean of magma.

“The atmosphere is likely rich in carbon dioxide or carbon monoxide, but can also have other gases such as water vapor and sulfur dioxide. The current observations cannot pinpoint the exact atmospheric composition,” said planetary scientist Renyu Hu of NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory and Caltech, the lead author of the study, published in the journal Nature.

The thickness of the atmosphere remained ambiguous in the Webb data. Hu suggested it could rival Earth’s in density or even surpass Venus, which boasts the densest and toxic atmosphere in our solar system.

Dubbed 55 Cancri e or Janssen, the planet is approximately 8.8 times more massive than Earth, with a diameter twice as large. Its close orbit around its star, at just one-25th the distance between Mercury and the sun, scorches its surface to temperatures around 3,140 degrees Fahrenheit (1,725 degrees Celsius or 2,000 degrees Kelvin).

“Indeed, this is one of the hottest-known rocky exoplanets,” said astrophysicist and study co-author Brice-Olivier Demory, of the University of Bern’s Center for Space and Habitability in Switzerland. (Exoplanet is the term for planets beyond our solar system.) “There are likely better places for a vacation spot in our galaxy.”
The planet is probably tidally locked, meaning it perpetually has the same side facing its star, much like the moon does toward Earth. It is located in our Milky Way galaxy about 41 light-years from Earth, in the constellation Cancer. A light year is the distance light travels in a year, 5.9 trillion miles. Four other planets, all gas giants, are known to orbit its host star.

That star is gravitationally bound to another star in a binary system. The other one is a red dwarf, the smallest kind of ordinary star. The distance between these companions is 1,000 times the distance between Earth and the sun, and light takes six days to get from one to the other.
After all their searching, the rocky exoplanet for which scientists finally found evidence of an atmosphere turned out to be one that probably should not even have one. Being so close to its star, any atmosphere should be stripped away by stellar irradiation and winds. But gases dissolved in the vast lava ocean thought to cover the planet may keep bubbling up to replenish the atmosphere, Hu said.
“The planet cannot be habitable,” Hu said, because it is too hot to have liquid water, considered a prerequisite for life.

All of the previous exoplanets found to have atmospheres were gaseous planets, not rocky ones. As Webb pushes the frontiers of exoplanet exploration, the discovery of a rocky one with an atmosphere represents progress.
On Earth, the atmosphere warms the planet, contains the oxygen people breathe, protects against solar radiation and creates the pressure needed for liquid water to remain on the planet’s surface.
“On Earth, atmosphere is key for life,” Demory said. “This result on 55 Cnc e entertains the hope that Webb could conduct similar investigations on planets that are much cooler than 55 Cnc e, which could support liquid water at their surface. But we are not there yet.”

Blakk Rasta Reveals How a Pastor Drove Him Out of His Church

Musician Blakk Rasta has disclosed an unsettling incident where he was driven out of a church he attended.

He recounted how the church’s leader labeled him as one of investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ disciples, suspecting him of being on a mission to surveil and expose the church’s activities.

Blakk Rasta, known for his controversial media persona, shared this incident while speaking with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM. He opened up about his journey to accepting his calling as a pastor, which initially began with vivid dreams that later materialized into real-life events, causing him to question his sanity.

Describing his supernatural experiences, Blakk Rasta recalled, “My calling is not a church calling. I woke up and I was seeing stars, the smallest slumber I was seeing things happening. I saw some earthquake happening somewhere, I saw planes crashing somewhere, I was going mad.” He even recounted an instance where he predicted an event on Lagazee’s show, only for it to unfold the next day.

“On Lagazee’s show, I told him ‘Oh last night I went to bed and this was what I saw in Venezuela’ bam! It happened.”

Reflecting on the church incident, he recounted, “I remember some Assemblies of God church in my house when the calling first came. I went to sit down there to listen to the pastor and he drove me away. He drove me away and said ‘he’s here to record us. This is one of Anas’ children.”

Blakk Rasta Narrates How He Got His Calling to Do God’s Work

Musician Blakk Rasta has revealed the extraordinary journey that led him to embrace his calling as a pastor or man of God.

Amidst his controversial media persona, he was ordained as a pastor on October 21, 2022, following his completion of Bible school training at Breakthrough Family Chapel under Bishop Samuel Osei-Tutu.

During an interview on Hitz FM with Andy Dosty, Blakk Rasta shared how his calling began with vivid dreams that soon transcended into real-life occurrences, leaving him feeling bewildered. He recounted experiencing premonitions of natural disasters and other significant events, which compelled him to seek answers.

“My calling is not a church calling. I woke up and I was seeing stars, the smallest slumber I was seeing things happening. I saw some earthquake happening somewhere, I saw planes crashing somewhere, I was going mad,” he explained.

“On Lagazee’s show, I told him ‘Oh last night I went to bed and this was what I saw in Venezuela’ bam! It happened.”

His quest for understanding led him to encounter Prophet Bernard, who astonishingly recounted intimate details of Blakk Rasta’s childhood experiences. This confirmation from his parents solidified his belief in his calling.

“So, I wanted to find out what I was going through . I went to a bookshop looking for a book about the prophetic and all that and then I asked the girl (sales girl) ‘who is the biggest prophet in Ghana?’ Because I was not used to those people. She said Bernard ElBenard.

“When I met with him, he told me things that shocked me. He said, ‘when you were 2 years, this was what happened to you,’” Blakk Rasta recalled.

Moreover, Blakk Rasta recounted numerous instances where strangers and acquaintances alike shared dreams of him preaching in a white gown in the marketplace, further affirming his divine purpose.

“Any church I went to and I hid at the back, a prophet will say ‘I’m seeing something, there’s somebody here who has a calling… every prophetic church,” he added. “Interestingly, throughout the whole month, people called me on the phone ‘Blakk, I had a dream about you’ what dream? All of them said one thing : I saw you wearing a white gown and you were in the market place preaching.  Every one of them, over 50 people called. From that time, anybody who called me and said I had a dream, I’d say ‘you saw me in a white gown preaching in the market’. So, over there I realized that truly I have a calling.”

Embracing his calling, he has embarked on a nationwide tour of Ghana, advocating for patriotism and delivering impassioned speeches in marketplaces.

“If I don’t accept this calling, I’m fooling myself and I’m fooling the almighty,” he disclosed.

Despite initial skepticism, Blakk Rasta’s acceptance of his calling has been met with support and validation from those around him, reinforcing his commitment to his newfound path as a pastor.

“I’m doing a nationwide tour of Ghana. I’m talking about patriotism.  I go to the market place , jump and hop and then when the people gather I peach to them about my nation.”

I regret using some foul words in the diss songs I released – Amerado

Rapper Derrick Sarfo Kantanka, known professionally as Amerado, has expressed remorse for using insults in his diss tracks aimed at some of his fellow artists with whom he had lyrical conflicts. He acknowledges that certain words used in the songs were unnecessary.

In an interview with Hitz FM’s Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz, Amerado clarified that his regrets pertain not to the disagreements themselves, but rather to specific lyrics within the songs.

He stated, “I regret some of the words that I said but I don’t regret the whole banter.”

“Whatever happened, was for my own good and my opponent as well but I believe that in the heat of the moment, we don’t have enough time to reason through the lyrics before we put it out because people are waiting for you and it’s back to back.”

The ‘Kweku Ananse’ hitmaker also revealed instances where musicians feel compelled to create such songs and highlighted a few benefits these tracks brought.

Stating what he regrets, he noted, “some of the insults in the rap songs, some were way over the bar
