“Shut up” – Samini blasts Shatta Wale for mocking #PlayGhana advocates

0

Multiple award-winning reggae-dancehall artiste Emmanuel Samini better known as Samini and Charles Nii Armah-Mensah Jnr popularly known as Shatta Wale clash over the newly launched #PlayGhana campaign.

Samini has responded to Shatta Wale after he took to social media to make a mockery of the #PlayGhana campaign.

The initiative, spearheaded by the Creative Arts Agency (CAA) and its Director, Ms Gyankromah Akufo-Addo, aims to promote and amplify local music by encouraging music producers and DJs to prioritize Ghanaian tunes during the festive season.

Shatta Wale took to his official X (Twitter) page, to question the intentions and feasibility of the campaign. In his post, he asked why the advocates want to ban foreign music.

In a series of posts, the ‘My Level’ crooner ridiculed the idea of “banning” foreign music and expressed scepticism about the campaign’s potential to succeed.

“How can you say you deh ban foreign music. Eeiiiiiii… We know how to Ban papa. Small time dem go ban Foos for kantamanto,” Shatta Wale’s post on X read.

Another post on X read; “I just woke up to tell you ,you can’t fight foreign music .Their 10% music will over-shadow the whole Ghana. Country with so much jealousy when it’s not them on the frontline. You see how poverty deh worry your artiste with nonesense suggestion .It’s poverty my guy.”

In response to Shatta Wale’s comments, Samini questioned the logic behind mocking the #PlayGhana campaign and suggested that the ”Ayoo” hitmaker’s criticism only stemmed from the initiative not being his own.

“Bro Lol. Ghana has become a spotlight over the last few years and this is not ending anytime soon. What’s wrong with creatives appealing for more local content on our airwaves? Who does this hurt? So if it’s not your suggestion then it’s nonsense eeh lol. Shut up I beg” Samini’s post on X read.

Play Ghana pushes local music to holidaymakers

0

At a press briefing in Accra last Thursday, players in the Creative Arts and entertainment industry, including music producer, Smallgod, hiplife legend, Reggie Rockstone, dancehall artiste, Samini, Afropop and hiplife talent, Black Sheriff, hiplife singer and entrepreneur, D-Black, and disc jockey DJ Mensah, among others, pledged to support the initiative.

They collectively called on players in the industry and all Ghanaians to make a conscious effort to project Ghanaian music in their activities or events during the festivities.

The state agencies stated that the initiative was not a competition, neither was it to stop people from playing foreign songs but rather to project Ghana’s rich music.

The press briefing was also attended by the Executive Director of the National Folklore Board, Bernice Deh-Kumah, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in charge of Operations at the Ghana Tourism Authority, Ekow Samson.

Intensify collaboration

A Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mark Okraku Mantey, reiterated the call to promote Ghana’s music, and said deliberate effort must be made to achieve a good result.

He also urged the public to contribute their part by selling hospitality and being nice to foreign visitors..

“It is right and ethical to promote Ghana. It should be intuitive to promote Ghana. The nightclubs, restaurants, pubs, television stations, presenters and churches must be deliberate about this. Let us be intentional about playing Ghanaian music,” Mr Mantey said.

The deputy minister, who is a former entertainment broadcaster, expressed the government’s commitment to working with players in the creative arts and entertainment industry to address their challenges and promote Ghanaian culture.

“We need each other to work together, the government, performers, DJs, road managers, performers and artistes,” Mr Mantey added.

Play Ghana

The Director of CAA, Gyankroma Akufo-Addo, stressed the importance of promoting Ghanaian music and other Ghanaian culture such as arts, food and fashion.

She said the initiative would not be a one-off event but a move to promote Ghanaian music all year round.

“Play Ghana initiative is not just for Christmas, it’s starting now because it is the biggest season for players in the Creative Arts industry”.

“We are urging radio stations, nightclubs and restaurants to consciously play Ghanaian music. Already, the producer, Smallgod, is moving from door to door to interact with the DJs,” Ms Akufo-Addo said.

Answering a question on the Cultural Policy which proposes 80 per cent local content and 20 per cent foreign content, she said it was being reviewed by the CAA, MoTAC, stakeholders and players within the industry.

“At the moment the law is there but it is not enforced and the split is not favourable to musicians,” she said.

Ms Akufo-Addo expressed the CAA’s commitment to the initiative and urged industry players to work together to make Ghanaian music dominant during the season.

I sacrificed my family for powers – Prophet Oracle

0

The leader and founder of King House Chapel Prophet Oracle born Nana Nketia has disclosed that he sacrificed some of his family members for powers.

According to him, he was taken away by a spiritualist to live with him for 22 years and within that period, he was been taken care of by the man and his dwarfs who were over 7000.

Fast forward, it was time for the spiritualist who took care of him to die because he was 170 years old.

Speaking in a interview on GHPage TV, he explained that in his case, the man wasn’t going to die but rather he was going under the sea and was never going to return to earth again.

Now the dwarfs needed a new leader but they didn’t want another spiritualist to lead them so they settled on him (Prophet Oracle).

Prophet Oracle went on to say that before that could be a reality, he needed to sacrifice 7 people and he had only 17 days to present the people so he could be their leader.

Looking through his life he decided to sacrifice his father, elder brother, his brother’s wife and their son simply because he hated his father and his elder brother.

Man marries triplets same day, after the sisters insisted on him marrying all of them at once.

0

In a world where love stories are often woven from traditional narratives there sometimes comes a tale that challenges our notions of romance, commitment, and the boundaries of cultural norms.

Such is the case with the heartwarming and unusual story of a Congolese man named Luwizo, who recently tied the knot with not one, but three sisters, in a union that defies convention and speaks to the intricate tapestry of human emotions.

Luwizo’s journey to the altar with the triplets is a testament to the power of love and the complexity of human relationships.

The Congolese man found himself in a unique situation when the three sisters insisted that he marry all of them at once.

This unconventional arrangement may raise eyebrows and stir curiosity, but at its core lies a profound understanding between Luwizo and the sisters, and a genuine desire to honor their unique bond.

In a world where monogamy is the societal norm, Luwizo’s decision to marry three sisters is a bold departure from convention.

It prompts us to question the boundaries of love and partnership and to consider the possibilities that lie beyond our familiar narratives.

While many may find this scenario unconventional or even perplexing, it is a poignant reminder that love is a deeply personal experience that cannot always be neatly defined by societal expectations.

The triplets’ insistence on marrying Luwizo together speaks to the strength of their sibling connection and their shared values.

This union is a testament to their bond as sisters and their collective decision to navigate the journey of marriage as a united front.

While some might question the dynamics of such an arrangement, it underscores the importance of open communication, trust, and mutual respect in any relationship.

“Friends” actor Matthew Perry died as a result of “the acute effects of ketamine,” the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office said Friday.

Perry, who played Chandler Bing on the hit TV sitcom from 1994-2004, died at the age of 54, having struggled for decades with addiction and related serious health issues.

“Contributing factors in Mr. Perry’s death include drowning, coronary artery disease and the effects of buprenorphine (used to treat opioid use disorder),” the medical examiner said in a statement. “The manner of death is accident. ”

Perry was found unconscious in a hot tub at his house in Los Angeles on October 28. First responders were unable to revive him, and an initial post-mortem proved inconclusive, pending a toxicology report.
