Report on stolen money from my home “inconsistent” – Cecilia Dapaah breaks silence

Cecilia Dapaah, Minister for Sanitation

Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources, Madam Cecilia Abena Dapaah, has broken her silence on the “stolen cash” from her home by her house girls, saying that there are “noticeable inconsistencies” in the report.

In a statement, Madam Cecilia Dapaah divulged that what is being discussed in the public domain is “quite inconsistent with the facts in the original complaint”.

She added that she is taking steps to “examine the origins of the inconsistencies and will provide a detailed response in the coming days”.

The case was heard at an Accra Circuit Court for the first time on Thursday, July 20. Dapaah’s lawyer, Kwame Akuffo, told the court that the minister was not aware of the details of the case until she was served with the summons.

Akuffo requested that the case be adjourned so that the Minister could have time to prepare her defense. The court granted the request and adjourned the case to August 10.

Dapaah’s silence on the matter had been criticized by some, who accused her of being evasive. However, her decision to speak out now suggests that she is taking the matter seriously and intends to clear her name.

The case has attracted a lot of attention in Ghana, and it is likely to continue to do so in the coming days. It remains to be seen what the outcome of the case will be.
