Grammy award-winning afrobeats star Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has reportedly lost his mother.
The Nigerian singer is mourning the loss of his mother, Mrs. Jane Dolapo Balogun who passed away early on Friday, around 1:30 am Nigeria time.
The sad news was confirmed by Wizkid’s longtime manager, Sunday Are, who stated that Mrs. Balogun’s demise occurred in the early hours of Friday, which has thrown fans into a state of mourning on the internet.
She leaves behind two other children, Yetunde Balogun and Lade Balogun.
Mrs. Balogun was very supportive of Wizkid’s career and did everything possible to support him in any way she could.
Wizkid is yet to make any official statement confirming the news.
