Nigerian chef, Damilola Adeparusi, better known simply as Chef Dammy, has become the newest millionaire in Ekiti after receiving a cheque of one million naira from a Nigerian businessman identified as Komiyo Lawrence Adefemi.
According to sources it’s an ambassadorial deal with Fekomi, a herbal company in Nigeria.
The deal was announced on Monday, July 17, 2023 and Chef Dammy also received a cheque of N1 million from the company.
In a photo that has been widely shared online, Chef Dammy was happily holding her big cheque.
The deal is expected to last for one year, with an option for renewal.
It is also expected to boost Chef Dammy’s career and income, as well as Fekomi’s sales and brand awareness.
Chef Dammy began the 120-hour cooking marathon on 9 June and finished on 13 June. The four-day event generated mixed reactions on social media.
The reactions arose because Hilda Baci’s feat was yet to be confirmed by the Guinness Book of World Records at the time.
Despite the initial resistance she faced, she received some endorsements, notably, from a Nigerian doctor, Ayo Arojo, who offered her N500,000 and promised to take her on a cooking tour in the U.S.
