Tiktoker jailed 3-years in prison for cyberstalking Nollywood actress Eniola Badmus

A woman has been sentenced to three years in prison for cyberstalking Nollywood actress Eniola Badmus.

Nigerian Tiktoker, Okoye Blessing Nwakaego, 24, was convicted of two counts of cyberstalking by Justice Nicholas Oweibo of the Federal High Court in Lagos.

The court heard that Nwakaego and an accomplice, Chimabia, conspired to post a false and malicious video about Badmus on TikTok in December 2022.

The video, which was viewed by over three million people, claimed that Badmus was involved in human trafficking. Nwakaego admitted to making the video at the behest of Chimabia, who paid her N200,000 to do so.

The judge said that Nwakaego’s actions had caused “annoyance, inconvenience, danger, insult, injury, criminal intimidation, enmity, hatred and needless anxiety” to Badmus.

He also noted that Nwakaego had shown remorse for her actions. In addition to the prison sentence, Nwakaego was also ordered to pay a fine of N150,000.
