Usher Makes History as First Independent Artist Headlining Super Bowl Halftime Show

American singer/songwriter, Usher Raymond, is poised to headline this year’s Super Bowl halftime show.

At Apple’s press conference, Usher expressed his enthusiasm about breaking ground as the first independent artist to grace the Super Bowl stage for such a massive audience.
As he prepares for his upcoming performance, Usher recently concluded a successful Las Vegas residency, coincidentally the venue for this year’s Super Bowl.

In addition to his halftime show, Usher is gearing up to launch a new album, marking a significant milestone in his journey as an independent artist. Reflecting on his three-decade-long career, Usher acknowledged the challenge of encapsulating it in a 13-minute set and credited Las Vegas for serving as a wellspring of inspiration.

Grateful for the opportunity, Usher emphasized the transformative impact of his time in Las Vegas, culminating in a Super Bowl performance orchestrated by Jay-Z.
The press conference also featured other pre-game performers such as Post Malone, Andra Day, and Reba McEntire.
