Multiple award-winning Nigerianm music diva, Tiwa Savage, who is known privately as Tiwatope Savage-Balogun has advised single ladies to date men who are willing to spend lavishly on them.
According to the songstress, ladies should be in a relationship with men who are willing to shower them with lavish gifts and expensive things, adding that it’s better to shed tears over luxurious possessions than over heartbreak.
In a video making the rounds on social media, the ‘Somebody’s Son’ crooner, could be heard saying that she was not in any way endorsing or encouraging prostitution or materialism but was communicating the importance of financial compatibility and enjoying the fruits of one’s labor. She emphasized that women should enjoy the luxuries and gifts that come with dating, without necessarily engaging in activities like “runs” (pursuing someone solely for financial gain) or prostitution.
The 43-year-old mother of one stated this on stage at one of her concerts recently.
‘‘I am not encouraging runs, I am not saying you should go after a man for his money. I am just saying it is sweet when he wants to spend his money on you.”
“Because I have my own money as you can see. So, all I’m saying is you need to match my energy. Because they [men] will still break your heart anyway. So, it’s better for you to cry with your Christian Dior and your birkin bag and your private jet in Dubai – no we don’t go to Dubai anymore.”
