Ghanaian gospel musicians, Tagoe Sisters have shared some of the rough times they experienced when they were growing up.
The twins, in a yet-to-be aired interview with Afia Amankwah Tamakloe on Adom TV revealed that they mixed mortar and carried concrete and building blocks at a construction site just to support their education.
The duo, known in private life as Lydia Dedei Yawson Nee Tagoe and Elizabeth Korkoi Tagoe disclosed that life took them to the point that they had to work in a stone quarry to make ends meet.
According to them, whenever school vacated, they had to help their mother sell some foodstuffs at the market or sell cooked food in town.
The ‘Anka M’atete’ singers said it took the intervention of a kind hearted man to help them get to where they are now.
Tagoe Sisters have been in the music industry since 1983. They were born on July 27, 1965. They are 55 years of age.
