2023 AFCON: SuperSport will not broadcast after losing rights to New World TV

Multichoice, owners of Digital Satellite Television (DStv), has announced that sports channel SuperSport will not broadcast the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations tournament which is set to take place in Ivory Coast between January and February.

According to Multichoice, SuperSport TV viewers will not get to see the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations on their screens after Multichoice could not secure broadcast rights after they lost the bid to a Togo-based broadcaster.

The Multichoice-owned sports network has been one of the most reliable and regular broadcaster of all African competitions over the years, but of late, they have shown less appetite in displaying Caf competitions.

SuperSport were not keen on showing the newly launched African Football League where South African based side Mamelodi Sundowns claimed the inaugural crown.
