Cook-a-thon: Dr. Bawumia donates GH¢30,000 to support Chef Faila

The Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has extended financial support of GH₵30,000 to Chef Abdul-Razak Failatu, otherwise known as Jah Bless Faila to add fuel to her ambitious flame during her attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon.

Hon. Shani Alhassan Saibuhe, the Northern Regional Minister made this announcement while speaking to the media at the Modern City Hotel in Tamale, where the marathon is currently taking place.

Northern Regional Minister Shani Alhassan Saibu who represented the Vice President Dr Mahamadu Buwumia donated an amount of GH₵30,000 on behalf of him.

“We are here to donate GH₵30,000 from the Vice president to aid her in her ambition to break the Guinness World Record,” he said on January 1, 2023,” he said.

The minister hailed Chef Failatu’s initiative as a delicious way to put the Temale on the map and prove that the region has so much to offer in terms of hospitality.

“This proves that our region brims with hospitality and culinary wonders,” he declared, underscoring the Vice President’s support for this bold endeavour.

The marathon, spanning from January 1 to 5, 2024, is Chef Failatu’s determined effort to surpass the existing record of 119 hours and 57 minutes set last year by Ireland’s Alan Fisher, who surpassed the renowned Hilda Baci’s record.
