The 65-year-old legendary actor was first diagnosed with kidney cancer in 2015. He underwent surgery to remove the tumor, but the cancer returned in 2020. He was then diagnosed with liver cancer as well.
The couple, who began dating in 2019, told People magazine that it was the right time to tie the knot.
“With both Covid and a long road of challenging medical treatments, we’ve had to push our marriage plans many times,” they said.
Lundgren underwent extensive treatment, including surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy. He was told that he had only two or three years to live.
