Adisadel Assault Video: Quaque Housemaster suspended after video of students’ violence goes viral

Adisadel College has suspended the Housemaster of Quaque House, Ekow Holman, pending investigations into a viral video showing two students engaging in violence.

The video shows one student holding the other tightly by the neck and hitting his head against a metallic bed frame. The victim’s face is visibly swollen as a result of the attack.

The school’s administration took immediate action after the video went viral, including interdicting Mr. Holman. In a letter dated July 24, the Headmaster, Samuel Kofi Agudogo, said that Mr. Holman had been relieved of his position as Housemaster “with immediate effect.”

The letter also stated that Mr. Holman “did not deliver as expected of you as housemaster as far as this video is concerned.”

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has condemned the incident and applauded the school’s authorities for taking swift action.

“Ghana Education Service assures the general public that we are taking this matter very seriously and are committed to ensuring a safe and secure learning environment for all students across the country,” a GES statement said.

The GES has also said that it will be conducting its own investigations into the matter.
