Benjamin Mendy officially joins new club, after being cleared of rape charges

In less than a week after he was cleared of rape and attempted rape by the Chester Crown Court, former Manchester City defender, Benjemin Mendy has officially joined Lorient FC as their new left back.

The France national will ply his trade in France’s top flight, with Lorient confirming the transfer via a statement on their website. It read: “FC Lorient is pleased to announce today the signing for two seasons of French international left-back Benjamin Mendy.

The 29-years-old will return to professional football after three years. He signed a deal linking him to the club till 2025.
