Supporters of the New Patriotic Party in the Yapei-Kusawgu Constituency in the Northern Region have disclosed they will resist any attempt by alleged members of the National Democratic Congress to bus electorates from other parts of Ghana to the Buipe registration center.

Party supporters are accusing one John Achulo, an uncle of the incumbent NDC aspirant John Jinapor, for bussing strangers to the Buipe Electoral Commission to transfer their votes.

According to the supporters, two buses arrived at the center Thursday, September 22 with members purported to be supporters of the ruling party but none of these people looked familiar.

This provoked a fierce resistance by the NPP.

The center was subsequently closed down by the Central Gonja District Police Command and was opened on Friday, September 23 for the process to begin but supporters have disclosed the process may end abruptly again if security is not beefed up as both parties are prepared to protect their interests.
