Celestine Donkor and Obaapa Christy team up on “What Shall I Render”

It is always a delight to have a good talent on a song but a double dose of that same energy is served when two great artistes work together on a song.

That is what music enthusiasts should anticipate on “What Shall I Render”, which is a collaboration between Celestine Donkor and Obaapa Christy.

To be released on Friday, November 17, “What Shall I Render” is Celestine’s ‘thank you’ message to God for his loving kindness and tender mercies throughout the year.

The song’s theme is one that many people can relate to, particularly in appreciating the gift of life.

As has been the ritual for years, Celestine Donkor drops a new song prior to the yearly Celestial Praise Concert and “What Shall I Render” is an anticipation of the event scheduled for March next year.

Speaking in an interview with Graphic Showbiz, Celestine Donkor said she contacted Obaapa Christy for a collaboration following a leading from God after prayers.

“When I was praying about who to work with for this song, Obaapa’s name came up strongly in my spirit and her positive response really helped. As always, she didn’t disappoint and it was fun working with her,” she said.

Celestine Donkor has collaborated with numerous gospel musicians including Joe Mettle, Joyce Blessing, Ceccy Twum, Mkhululi Bhebhe, Edem, Philipa Baafi.

She has songs like Turning around, Bigger, Okronkronhene, Manim Nguase, Boobobo.

Her album Agbebolo earned her the Artiste of the year at the National Gospel Music Awards.

In March 2021, she was among the Top 30 Most Influential Women in Music by the 3Music Awards Women’s Brunch.
