Chale Wote Street Art Festival to be held at Black Star Square in Osu

The 13th edition of the Chale Wote Street Art Festival will be held at the Black Star Square in Osu, Accra, Ghana from August 21 to 27, 2023.

This year’s festival will feature a new focus on the history of resistance against colonial invasions in Ghana, with live murals by Ghanaian art collective AFUABE and a musical theater piece called MEMORY MOVEMENT FREEDOM.

There will also be performances by 120 musicians and bands, as well as workshops, salons, and exhibitions.

The world famous HIGHLIFE CAFÉ will open at the Black Star Square for the first time, and the Accra Cookout will serve the city’s favorite dishes and obscure delicacies.

The Chale Wote Street Art Festival is a celebration of African art and culture, and it has become one of the most popular festivals in Ghana. The festival is free to attend, and it is a great opportunity to experience the best of Ghanaian creativity.
