The King of Gonjaland, Yagbon-Wura Tuntumba Bore-Essa II, has called on the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to save Gonjaland from retrogression.

The Chief made this call at his palace Friday, September 2 when Nana Akufo-Addo and his entourage paid a courtesy call on him and his elders.

The Chief Linguist of the King, Alhaji Afoli, who translated the Chief’s words, said “Gonjas were progressing some years ago but now we are retrogressing and that has become a concern to us”.

The Yagbon-Wura, however, applauded the Mahama-led administration for constructing the Fufulso-Sawla road but was quick to add “we need water and we pray you will also give us water when you come to power”.

He, therefore, invoked the blessings of the gods of Gonjaland on Nana Akufo-Addo to enable him realize his dream of leading the nation.

The Yagbonwura on the other hand cautioned the NPP flagbearer to carry the message of peace throughout his campaign.
