Canadian rapper Drake has lost $565,000 after betting on Tyson Fury to beat Oleksandr Usyk.
This marks another significant gambling loss for the famous singer. Before the fight, Drake revealed on Instagram that he had wagered $565,000 on Fury to win. If Fury had emerged victorious, Drake would have collected just over $1 million.
However, Usyk defeated Fury by split decision in Saudi Arabia, becoming the first undisputed heavyweight boxing champion in 24 years. With this victory, Usyk added Fury’s WBC title to his existing WBA, IBF, and WBO belts.
Previously, Drake lost a six-figure sum when Anthony Joshua knocked out Francis Ngannou and another $700,000 after Dricus Du Plessis defeated Sean Strickland at UFC 297. He also bet $1 million on Argentina to win the 2022 FIFA World Cup, but lost because the match was decided by penalty kicks. Additionally, he lost $2 million Canadian dollars when Israel Adesanya suffered a shocking knockout loss to Alex Pereira in November 2022.
