Haruna Campaign Launch

Member of Parliament for Tamale South Constituency Haruna Iddrisu has launched his campaign bid to win the seat by targeting 70,000 votes in the 2016 election.

The launch was done for by the Majority Leader in Parliament, Alban Sumana Bagbin, in Tamale on Saturday.

The Majority Leader urged supporters and sympathizers of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to vote Mr. Iddrisu every time he stands for the slot, adding that the credibility of the candidate is doubtless both as Member of Parliament and as a Minister.

He said Mr. Iddrisu has distinguished himself as one of the best ministers in the country pointing out that as a former Minister of Trade, he was the brain behind the establishment of the sugar factory in Central Region and a similarly proposed one in Savelugu in the Northern Region.

Mr. Bagbin also entreated them to vote massively for President John Mahama to retain him as the next President to continue what he described as massive development of the country.

The Minister of Communications, Dr. Omane Boamah, said it is only the NDC that can elevate the country out of poverty, adding that the promises made by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) are what the NDC is already doing.

The Minister for Roads and Highways, Inusah Fusieni, said the NDC has done enough to be retained in power.

He mentioned the road networks in the country being constructed by the party including the Eastern Corridor roads to link the north and the south.

Mr. Fusieni also said about 600-bed capacity hospitals are being built around the country and rehabilitation of many more including the Tamale Teaching Hospital.

Mr. Haruna Iddrisu, who is also the Minister of Employment and Labour Relations, pledged his commitment to serve the government and bring more development to the Tamale South Constituency.

The incumbent MP had total votes of 36,925 votes in 2008 and 36, 976 in 2012 to represent the Tamale South Constituency in parliament.
