Entrepreneur, philanthropist, and award-winning actress Yvonne Nelson has dropped a bombshell in her latest book “I Am Not Yvonne Nelson” The book released yesterday at the Peduase Valley Resort chronicles Yvonne Nelson’s journey to date.
What will catch the attention of entertainment lovers alike this week will definitely be the revelation that she indeed had an abortion for rapper Sarkodie. In the memoir, Yvonne Nelson details how she found out she was pregnant for Sarkodie and what happened after she had informed the rapper. She wrote;
“Sarkodie was a budding musician with the potential to become one of the biggest artists in Ghana and beyond. At the time, however, the future looked uncertain, and his way through the maze of life still appeared too foggy to predict. Success was not guaranteed. He was still living with his mother and was not ready to carry a burden while he was being carried by his mother,”
Sarkodie had not reached peak potential and was in no position to take care of a baby. The sad part of the publication is Yvonne Nelson scribing that she did not get the comfort and attention from Sarkodie after the abortion ordeal.
“From the health facility, I went back to my friend’s hostel. As had happened with my Nov-Dec exams after school, I hoped and prayed that I would be lucky with the second attempt. The pain, again, was intense and I bled profusely. I felt worse because Sarkodie left me to my fate in the most difficult period. He did not call to check up on me or find out how the procedure had gone “

Yvonne Nelson admits that the escape she found in music gravitated her to musicians who in one way or the other took advantage of her urge.
