Controversial Ghanaian Dancehall heavyweight Charles Nii Armah widely recognized as Shatta Wale has denied accusations of being a drug addict.
In a conversation on Twitter Spaces with Ace broadcaster Serwaa Amihere, Shatta Wale clarified that he has never been addicted to drugs and that he is not a disrespectful person.
According to him, the perception of him being a drug addict and a disrespectful individual was created by people who did not know him.
“Though i smoke but I am not a drug addict…I have never been addicted to drugs. I am a very spiritual person and I believe in God. I would never do anything to jeopardize my health or my career.”
Shatta astonishingly disclosed that he quit smoking weed a few years ago because he wanted to prove that his inspiration came from a higher source, though he still smokes cigarette.
He was quick in saying that he still smokes cigarettes occasionally, but that he does not drink alcohol or use any other drugs.
