It was a mistake. If I had known it would go this far, I wouldn’t have attended the concert- Jess

Jessica Ani, the girl who danced with Omah Lay on stage, publicly apologized to her boyfriend due to the widespread attention.
In a TikTok video, she explained that she had discussed the possibility of being called on stage with her boyfriend, who had no objections. Apologizing publicly, she expressed regret for the unintended consequences, stating that if she knew it would escalate, she wouldn’t have attended the concert.

“I wanna publicly apologize to him. Obviously me and him, we’ve had private conversations, we spoke but since it was public I think the right thing for me to do is to publicly apologize to him. That was bad. It was honestly a mistake. If I knew this would get this far, I won’t even go to the concert because this is not worth the hate that I’m receiving.”

“Me and him, We’ve had private conversations of going on stage with Omah Lay because he does this at his shows. This is what he does; it’s nothing new. Me and him had this conversation. I said to him ‘if I was to get called on stage, I’m going to go on stage,’ and he said that’s fine. He’s been saying that’s fine.Me and him never ever had an issue with me going on stage.”

Jess clarified that she personally bought the concert tickets, debunking rumors that her boyfriend purchased them. She emphasized the public nature of her apology, given the event’s widespread impact. Additionally, she corrected misinformation about her name, stating it’s Jess, not “Fafa.”
