Make Music from the Heart; Not All of Us Are Destined to Be Millionaires or Rap Stars – Reggie Rockstone Advises

Reggie Rockstone, a legendary figure in the music industry, has shared his insights on Ghana’s rap scene following comments made by rapper YPee.

YPee pointed out how hardcore rappers are increasingly turning to singing for better pay, citing the meager financial returns of rap.

“Rap Music In Ghana Is Dying!! Almost All Our Hardcore Rappers In The Country Have Switched To Singing Now Because Rap Gidigidi no koraa Sika Biaa Nnim!!* All People Tell You ls Oh “you’re good” “you be hard” “dopest rapper” “the best rapper” but You Won’t Make Any Penny From That!! You Need To Have A Commerical Hit Song Out There That The People Like To Actually Make Some Money Here!! We Can’t Blame Nobody! Ibi Survival Mode!!! Sad But That’s The Reality Now!” YPee said on Facebook.

In contrast, Reggie offered a fresh perspective, encouraging artists to produce music they sincerely love and to value their talents, irrespective of financial gains. He stressed the importance of gratitude and recognized that not everyone will attain great wealth or fame in the industry.

“Make music you like and from your heart and if JAH wants to honor you so he shall enjoy your gift and we are not all gonna be millionaires or rap stars but we shall all pass on one day! Enjoy your gifts and praise JAH for all,” Reggie Rockstone commented in response to the post shared on Instagram.
