Musician Ayisi, formerly known as A.I., recently clarified his decision to change his stage name.
He explained that the abbreviation “A.I.” is often associated with Artificial Intelligence, causing confusion within the music industry. Speaking on TV3’s New Day on May 1, Ayisi stressed that various interpretations of his stage name prompted him to provide clarity.
He expressed concerns that amidst the prevalence of “A.I.” in different contexts, his identity as an artist might be overshadowed. Ayisi also revealed that “A.I.” was simply a shortened version of his full name, Ayisi, which he felt needed explanation.
“Nowadays everything is A.I. so it was suggested that you know the artist will get lost in all that…there were incredible names, Adenta Intelligence, Artificial Intelligence and all that so I thought that the artiste will get lost in all that,”he explained.
