Nathaniel Bassey Seeks Justice Amid False Paternity Allegations

Nigerian gospel singer Nathaniel Bassey has officially urged Nigeria’s Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, to conduct an investigation and pursue legal action against four influencers who wrongly accused him of being the father of Mercy Chinwo’s child.

In a petition submitted on April 1, 2024, Bassey’s legal representatives have alleged criminal defamation and cyberstalking against Okoronkwo Ejike, Kingsley Ibeh, Terrence Ekot, and Dj Spoiltkid, emphasizing the negative impact on Bassey’s reputation and professional life.

The petition emphasizes, “The consequences of making such statements on social media have been known to tarnish the reputations of individuals, render marriages unstable, and many never recover from them.”

The ‘Yeshua Hamashiach’ singer urges the Inspector-General to take action to deter similar behavior in the future.
