Kofi Kinaata Advises Colleagues Not to Make Music Out of Every Social Issue

0

Musician Kofi Kinaata advises fellow artists to be careful when addressing sensitive social issues in their music.

Speaking on Asaase Radio with Caroline Sampson, Kinaata emphasized the importance of thoughtfulness and restraint when addressing contentious topics. He stressed the need for artists to have experience and discretion in deciding which subjects to tackle, cautioning against delving into issues like LGBTQ rights and religion without a thorough understanding.

Kinaata highlighted the responsibility of artists to avoid sparking controversy or offense unintentionally and suggested maintaining boundaries and exercising restraint to prevent unnecessary discord. He emphasized that artists should recognize the limitations of their understanding and refrain from expressing opinions on matters they may not fully grasp.

“For you to put out songs as artists it has to first click in your head, having experience is also a contributing factor. The longer you are an artist the more you realise that there are some topics that you need to keep your opinion to yourself.”

“Some artists feel that because they are musicians their opinions need to be heard always and sometimes they don’t know the details of a situation on the ground and when they share their opinion you will realise it doesn’t make sense. So these are some boundaries that we must get. Some people want to talk about everything, including LGBTQ and religion but religion is a sensitive topic, so we all need to get this sense. So we don’t get in trouble,” he said.
The ‘Susuka’ hitmaker is now promoting his new song called ‘Effiakuma Brokenheart’.

Invest in your souls, not your bodies – Celestine Donkor cautions females

Amid the increasing trend of body enhancements, Gospel singer Celestine Donkor has advised women to prioritize investing in their souls rather than splurging on achieving a desired physique. Speaking on DayBreak Hitz on HitzFM with Doreen Avio, she emphasized the importance of nurturing the soul over focusing solely on physical appearance.

“Personally, if I have 40,000 or 50,000 to work on my body, I’d invest in my soul because this body will perish one day” she remarked.

Donkor emphasized the transient nature of the physical body, stressing that regardless of how well-maintained it is, it will eventually return to the earth. She expressed concern over the disparity between the emphasis on outward beauty and the neglect of inner well-being. Donkor cautioned against prioritizing physical appearance at the expense of spiritual health, noting that the soul is eternal while the body is temporary.

“The one that’ll not die is your soul. So, we spend much in looking good and our soul looks really terrible. If you have a perfect combination of the two, praise Jesus for you but to invest so much in looking good, appearing good and your soul is dying is really a sad thing to happen to a human being because the worthless creature after death is the human body . Even goats , when they die they have value because we use them in our soups. They actually have value.

“But the human body, the moment we die, they no longer address us by our name . They call us body,”she explained.

However, she added that if surgery or body enhancement is necessary for life-saving reasons, she would recommend it. But if it’s solely for cosmetic purposes and not a matter of life or death, she deems it unnecessary.

Drawing from her own experience, she mentioned undergoing surgery during childbirth, emphasizing that it was necessary at the time.

“If your health is not at risk , you’re not in danger because of your weight , there’s a way you can manage and diet and walk and be in shape, go for that one,”she advised.

Election 2024: I won’t declare myself as only the “driver’s mate” at the time of reckoning – Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang promises Mahama

0

Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, the running mate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, has affirmed to him that she will not utilize the term “driver’s mate” as a way to distance herself in the face of challenges during their administration.
This assurance follows Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s acknowledgment of himself as a “driver’s mate” during his vision outline as the New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer. He suggested that this identity hindered his effectiveness in addressing certain challenges faced by the government.

Professor Opoku-Agyemang made this pledge during her official unveiling on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at UPSA, where she emphasized her commitment to sharing in the party’s collective successes and taking responsibility for any setbacks.

She stated, “I will share in our collective successes and share responsibility for our setbacks if any. And at the time of reckoning, Your Excellency John Mahama, I will not in advancement of self-serving ambition declare to the whole world that I was only the driver’s mate.”

The 2024 election’s goal: to heal our country again – Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang

0

Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, the running mate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) with flagbearer John Dramani Mahama, has stressed that the upcoming 2024 general election is a pivotal opportunity for healing and rescuing Ghana from the challenges it faces.

Speaking at her official introduction at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) on Wednesday, April 24, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang expressed that the upcoming election is not solely about returning the NDC to power, but about a larger purpose of healing the country.

“The election is not only about bringing the NDC back to power, which is indispensable in our current circumstances.

“The elections ahead and winning them is about winning elections for a purpose. The purpose goes beyond those enumerated above. The purpose is the opportunity to heal our country again. It is about the opportunity to pull Ghana back from the precipice of destruction, of normalising corruption, of incomprehensible greed and from deep despair?” She said.

She emphasized the need to steer Ghana away from corruption and greed, towards a future where citizens have confidence and hope, where laws are upheld, prosperity is shared, and democracy thrives.

“It is to work towards a Ghana where citizens have confidence and hope and are determined to regain their independence of thought and of agenda. We must work towards a Ghana that at the very least, can feed itself; where the law truly works; where there is shared prosperity; where democracy has not become a fluke; where people are not abused and where the basic necessities of life are not denied the majority or eventually, anyone,” she added.

Opoku-Agyemang stressed the importance of respecting citizens’ voices and invited everyone to join in the challenging task of rebuilding Ghana and restoring hope, drawing on the NDC’s history and achievements.

“It is a chance to work hard towards a country where citizens do not feel disrespected, are not intimidated, ignored because of the way they vote or the language they speak. The victory we seek as a party is to invite everyone to the onerous task of rebuilding a broken Ghana, of restoring hope, in a manner that the NDC is capable of doing by their history and achievements.”

Be Transparent: Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang’s Call to the Electoral Commission

0

Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, who is running alongside National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer John Dramani Mahama, has called on the Electoral Commission (EC) to prioritize transparency and avoid hiding the truth as the December elections approach.

During her official introduction on Wednesday, April 24, Professor Opoku-Agyemang highlighted the challenges the EC faces in maintaining its credibility, particularly concerning missing equipment.

She stressed the importance of the EC addressing concerns surrounding its operations, emphasizing that without clarity and reassurance from the commission, doubts would persist among the public, undermining trust in the electoral process.

“So, the electoral commission is struggling to defend its credibility and until the commission tells us that the equipment means nothing, everyone should believe that there are no issues to worry about. How did disrespect get so high? Actions that impoverish and disenfranchise do not necessarily translate into mindedness in people who are angry, hungry and in people who are oppressed.

“The electoral commission is struggling to defend its credibility and until the commission tells us that the equipment means nothing, everyone should believe that there are no issues to worry about. How did disrespect get so high? Actions that impoverish and disenfranchise do not necessarily translate into mindedness in people who are angry, hungry and in people who are oppressed.

“On the contrary, again check the details in our history. Electoral Commission, I address you directly. It is in the national interest and in your own interest to make transparent what has been and is going on in your establishment.

“The truth will not be suppressed. you cannot be so independent as to disregard the people who validate your existence. it cannot happen anywhere. EC, a word to the wise is Assin North,” she stated.

Philipa Baafi Opens Up About Overcoming Challenges to Attain a First-Class Degree

0

Gospel singer, Philipa Baafi, recently recounted her academic journey.

She shared that after graduating from Senior High School, she faced the loss of both parents, making it challenging to continue her studies. Despite these hurdles, she persevered and pursued higher education. At the age of 40, Baafi achieved a significant milestone by earning a first-class degree in Physician Assistant studies.

She credits her success to God’s guidance and her unwavering determination.

In a video posted on Zion Felix’s Instagram page, Philipa shared the challenges she faced and how she overcame them. She explained that despite her passion for music, she also had a strong desire to pursue a career in medicine. This motivated her to apply for a course in Physician Assistant studies, even at the age of 40.

“I lost my parents at a very tender age—my dad while I was in primary school, and my mother followed when I entered SHS. Though I excelled academically, it was a challenging period for me. I’ve gone through so much before God brought me to where I am today. Going back to school wasn’t easy, but not only did I return, I graduated with a first-class degree,” she narrated.

The challenges she endured, alongside God’s guidance and her unwavering resilience, served as the driving force behind her latest single, ‘Eda Ho pefee.’ This song eloquently portrays her journey and tells the story of her triumph over adversity.

Broadcast journalist Serwaa Amihere has issued a public apology to her family, employers, and loved ones after an intimate video of her surfaced online earlier this month.

The video, which shows her in bed with a man known as Henry Fitz, led to trolling online and calls for her job termination

In her statement, Amihere explained the circumstances surrounding the video’s leak, offering apologies to those affected. She revealed that the video was recorded five years ago and was released five months after she received threats and experienced extortion.

Amihere acknowledged the embarrassment and frustration caused to her employers, businesses, and brands she represents, expressing regret for underestimating her influence and potential.

“The video (which was made 5 years ago) has severely embarrassed me, my family and my loved ones. It has also exposed my employers, and the businesses and brands I represent to embarrassment.

“Additionally, the video has been a source of frustration to all who have been my support, inspiration, and encouragement throughout my journey in the media.

“At the time, 5 years ago, I considerably underestimated the extent of my influence, my potentials, what I would become, and what I would come to represent to this society,” the statement reads.

She apologized for any harm caused to her family, employers, loved ones, and represented brands, expressing sincere regret for the situation.

“Sincerely, I say sorry for the embarrassment, disappointment, and frustration which this matter has caused to my family and loved ones, to the distinguished businesses and brands I represent, and to you.”
