The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of Nigeria has lodged a three-count charge against Pascal Okechukwu, widely known as Cubana Chief Priest on Instagram.
The charge alleges that he sprayed and mishandled the Nigerian currency at a social gathering, breaching the Central Bank Act of 2007. Cubana Chief Priest is set to appear before Justice Kehinde Ogundare of the Federal High Court in Lagos on Wednesday, April 17th.
The charge, filed on April 4th by EFCC prosecutor Rotimi Oyedepo (SAN) and seven other lawyers representing the Commission’s Chairman, alleges various instances of tampering with N500 notes during social events.
This legal action follows closely after the EFCC recently arraigned Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, on similar charges, resulting in a six-month jail sentence.
Musician Nicholas Omane Acheampong has urged Ghanaians to think twice before casting their votes for former President John Dramani Mahama in the upcoming elections.
He believes that since Mahama has no future elections to contest, he may not feel accountable and could potentially subject the people of Ghana to hardship if given another chance in office. In a viral video, Acheampong stressed the importance of electing a president who is answerable and motivated to perform better with the prospect of future elections.
He expressed concern that Mahama’s return to power might result in revenge and retribution rather than progress and development for the nation. Acheampong encouraged voters to support a candidate who actively seeks their votes in future elections, ensuring accountability to the people.
“Mahama is coming for revenge. He is coming to pay the people of Ghana back for voting him out in 2016. He does not have any election to contest so he should not be considered.
“Let’s vote for someone who will come and beg for our votes so that he will be accountable, not someone who does not have any election ahead of him,”he cautioned.
He warned that permitting Mahama to assume the presidency once more might result in heightened hardship for the people of Ghana.

Nigerian artist Timaya has made a bold statement, asserting that many women have attempted to bind him at the Nogokpo Shrine in Ghana’s Volta Region.
Taking to Facebook, the hitmaker shared photos depicting himself adorned in traditional agbada attire, striking poses beside a sleek black Tesla Cybertruck. While the first two images showcased Timaya’s charismatic presence, the third one revealed the Nogokpo shrine itself, clarifying the essence of his post.
In his caption he said, “Too many Gals don try to go tie me 4 Nogokpo!!” followed by “SHE SAID PAPI… 😂GLADIATOR.”
The Nogokpo shrine, nestled in the serene village of Nogokpo within the Ketu South Municipal of Ghana’s Volta Region, holds a rich historical heritage dating back to its visionary founder, Torgbui Saba Tritriku Agbo. Saba’s valorous deeds as a war captain and his spiritual journey to Dahomey, where he acquired Zakadza, the Yewe god of thunder, are intricately woven into the village’s lore.
Renowned for its efficacy, the Nogokpo shrine draws both local inhabitants and visitors from afar, all seeking resolution for their destinies or retribution for wrongs endured. However, despite occasional jests about its potency, locals admonish against trivializing its significance, as invoking its name lightly may arouse the ire of its divine forces.
Elon Musk, the owner of the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), has announced plans to implement charges for new users posting on the platform.
According to him, “a small fee for new user write access is the only way to curb the relentless onslaught of bots.”
Musk explained that after a three-month period, new users would be granted free posting privileges.
He expressed concerns about the ease with which current AI and troll farms can bypass bot detection measures, stating, “Current AI (and troll farms) can pass ‘are you a bot’ with ease. The onslaught of fake accounts also uses up the available namespace, so many good handles are taken as a result”
Earlier, Musk had implemented a yearly fee of $1 for new users in New Zealand and the Philippines starting on October 17, 2023, granting them access to essential functionalities like tweeting, retweeting, liking posts, and commenting.

Amerado, born Derrick Sarfo Kantanka, openly aired his concerns, especially regarding his overlooked track ‘Kwaku Ananse,’ despite the remix receiving a nomination. He turned to social media, urging the TGMA board for clarification.
In response, the award scheme’s board granted a one-week grace period for artists to voice their concerns. However, following a thorough evaluation, the board confirmed that there were no errors or omissions in the nominations list, except for two categories.
Upon thorough review of all submissions, the board confirms the absence of errors or omissions in the nominations list, except for two categories. Initially categorized as a featured work, ‘Lonely Road’ by O’Kenneth & Xlim Kid was later clarified by the artists’ management as a joint project, prompting the board to correct the nomination to reflect its accurate category.
Furthermore, the board reconsidered and nominated Amerado’s ‘Kwaku Ananse’ remix in the Best Highlife Song category instead of the original version, impacting its consideration for Most Popular Song of the Year. Dancehall artist Shatta Wale has firmly refused to apologize to Stonebwoy despite criticism for mocking Stonebwoy’s disability.
During the recent Sallahfest event, Shatta Wale criticized Stonebwoy for his absence, resorting to derogatory remarks, including mocking Stonebwoy’s limp.
The Ghana Society of the Physically Disabled (GSPD) condemned Shatta Wale’s actions, expressing concern over their potential harm to the mentally well-being of the physically disabled community.
In a press release, the GSPD emphasized that disabilities are not punishments from God or indicators of character. They called for an apology from Shatta Wale and urged the removal of the offensive videos from social media platforms, citing Ghana’s Disability Act 715, which prohibits mocking or making derogatory comments about a person’s disability.
Despite the backlash, a fan of Shatta Wale, going by the Facebook name Don Shulace Degeneral, took to social media to further mock Stonebwoy and explicitly stated that Shatta should not apologize. Additionally, Degeneral asserted that persons with disabilities he knows are unkind.
“If shatta wale apologies to anyone it go pain me paa. Ofui apology to your mothers. If we are not talking doesn’t mean we don’t see what is going on. We are not talking cus we have come to realize that majority of Ghanaians are fools and they don’t want to change their mindset.
“So we just channel our energy on positivity buying and streaming shatta wale songs take note. Apakye stonebwoy has use this sympathy, sympathy brainwash Ghanaian.. imagine stonebwoy want kpai shatta wale cus of award. Not even a house or money just award imagine and shatta wale who wasn’t even holding a pen went to prison how!!!!!!!” He said.
Moreover, he pointed out instances where he believed Stonebwoy had insulted Shatta Wale and his fans, questioning whether those actions didn’t constitute mockery as well.
“Furthermore Eno here we dey stonebwoy go post some madman on his Snapchat mocking shatta wale in mouth? Eno be here we dey Stonebowy go reply a fan on twitter says all shatta wale fans be arm robbers? that one no be mockery?
“Is it not Stonebowy at his albums listening party said Anybody way dey called himself dancehall king his mothers all? You can go suck mother Chale any apakye I know bia their wicked I swear. You think God kolo Abi 😂😂😂 in the law of America if you get accident or injured you are disability is not mockery. Ojon,” he added.
Shatta Wale responded to the fan’s comments, rejecting the notion of apologizing, stating defiantly, “I won’t do no such nonsense!”
The Ghana Society of the Physically Disabled (GSPD) expressed their dissatisfaction with musician Shatta Wale for ridiculing the disability of his colleague, Stonebwoy.
Last week, Shatta Wale targeted Stonebwoy for his absence at the highly anticipated Sallahfest event.
During his onstage tirade, he hurled derogatory remarks at Stonebwoy, including mocking his limp, which many deemed unnecessary, even if he had a disagreement with the BHIM Nation president.
In a press statement, the GSPD denounced Shatta Wale’s behavior as irresponsible and potentially detrimental to the mental well-being of the physically disabled community.
“The Ghana Society of the Physically Disabled (GSPD) has seen a video circulating on social media where Shatta Wale mocks Stonebouy with his disability. In the video, Shatta Wale said among other negative statements “You are a bad person that is why God made you a disabled person, you are a disabled person don’t try and fight an able person”.”
“By this statement, he is trying to say all persons with disabilities are bad that is why God has made us who we are. This primitive statement should not have come from a high-profile personality like Shata Wale,” the statement read.
The organization emphasized that having a disability does not imply being cursed or punished by God. They urged Shatta Wale to apologize to the community and to take steps to remove the offensive videos from social media platforms. Referring to Disability Act 715, the GSPD reminded everyone that mocking or making derogatory comments about a person’s disability is a punishable offense under the law.
“We want to remind Shatta Wale that a section of his own fans who are making him who he is, are persons with disabilities. Did he think how they will feel? or Shatta Wale thinks he has made it so he does not care?”
The group encouraged the public to embrace individuals with disabilities and to show empathy towards them, emphasizing, “Disability indeed can be anyone’s lot at any given time.”
Senior Pastor Paul Enenche of Dunamis International Gospel Centre has addressed the recent situation involving Ayim Vera, who testified about graduating from the Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).
Enenche made it clear that his interruption during Vera’s testimony wasn’t meant to embarrass her. Vera shared her accomplishment of earning a “Bachelor of Law” degree from NOUN in a widely circulated video on April 13.
However, Enenche’s interruption, questioning the validity of a “Bachelor of Science in Law,” triggered widespread online discussion, prompting calls for an apology. Yet, in his defense, Enenche explained that his actions were rooted in the church’s commitment to honesty and excellence.
Sylvester Edoh, Enenche’s Personal Assistant, mentioned that the church had reached out to Vera privately to address the situation. He stressed that the interruption wasn’t meant to publicly embarrass Vera, but rather to maintain standards of truth and excellence.
“A scenario was created on Sunday, April 14, 2024, at the Glory Dome, the Global Headquarters of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, when Ms. Anyim Veronica Nnenna came out to testify of how God helped her graduate from the University, thus making her the first person to attain that feat in her family,” the statement reads.
“These were the immediate triggers for the said scenario: First, listening to the testifier’s expressions as it borders on basic spoken English, conveys the impression that the minimum standard expectation of a graduate, especially a graduate of Law was not met. Second, stating that she studied Law for ten years begged the question of what her degree actually was.
“Third, she was unable to state exactly what the correct degree was for Law which is LLB, rather she said it was a BSc in Law which is largely unknown as a Law degree in Nigeria and possibly globally. These prompted the Senior Pastor, Dr. Paul Enenche to stop the testimony immediately as a product of a “lie.”
“However, relief came when it was later confirmed that she actually graduated from a university. It must be pointed out clearly here that embarrassing the testifier publicly with the attendant media frenzy was never intended; whatever happened was under the spur of the moment.
“The action of the Senior Pastor was rather based on his and the church’s aversion to seeming mediocrity and any appearance of untruth.
“While we remain resolute in our passion for excellence and intolerance of mediocrity and falsehood, we wish to reiterate the fact that no harm or hurt was ever intended by the Senior Pastor against Ms. Anyim Veronica.
“The Senior Pastor feels deeply concerned and has already reached out to her. As a Commission, we regret every inconvenience, hurt and embarrassment this unfortunate scenario has caused to Ms. Anyim Veronica Nnenna.”
