After Nigeria’s 2-1 loss to Ivory Coast on February 11, 2024, Black Sherif, also known as Blacko, the reigning artiste of the year, joined fellow Ghanaians, including celebrities, in teasing Nigerians.
This playful banter ensued following Ghana’s early exit from the AFCON group stage, contrasting with Nigeria’s journey to the finals, where they eventually lost to Ivory Coast.
Blacko disclosed that Nigerian musicians Blaqbonez and Odumodu had taunted him when Ghana was eliminated. Blaqbonez reportedly called Blacko on FaceTime, gleefully mocking him, while Odumodu went a step further by urging a jeweler to create the cheapest piece for Blacko. Interestingly, Blacko was the one who contacted the jeweler.
Remaining undeterred, Blacko expressed his determination, stating that there would be no retreat.
He announced a temporary break before resuming the banter today, rallying support for the Super Eagles with a spirited “We go again this afternoon. SUPER EAGLES! you do this one.”
