Outgoing Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana Reverend Professor Emmanuel Martey has withdrawn from the National Peace Council as a member.
He was representing the Christian Council of Ghana (CCG) on the Council, which is chaired by Former Presiding Methodist Bishop Rev. Prof. Emmanuel Asante.
Rev Prof Martey withdrew from the Council “on a personal decision”, a letter sighted by 3news.com indicates.
In his place, CCG has appointed Rev Dr Ernest Adu-Gyamfi to serve on the Council, the letter signed by CCG General Secretary Rev Dr Kwabena Opuni-Frimpong announced.
A President of the Ghana Baptist Convention, Rev Dr Adu-Gyamfi is the current Chairman of the CCG.
He joins the 10-man Council as the newest member after it was reconstituted in June.
