0

TikTok sensation and media personality, Felicia Osei, openly addressed a significant past mistake, vowing never to tread that path again.

During an interview with Quophi Okyeame, she expressed regret about dating a man with a hairless chest, describing such individuals as inconsiderate.

Describing this category of individuals as “hairless chested males,”Felicia emphasized that men with chest hair tend to be more sensitive to their partner’s emotions, even timing breakups to weekends to spare their partner the pain during work hours.

She painted a contrasting picture of the hairless-chested counterparts, insinuating a perceived insensitivity. She asserted that a man without chest hair might opt for an opposite approach when ending a relationship, potentially causing emotional distress during work hours.

Ghana Music Awards ‘heavier’ than Grammys, BET – Fameye

Fameye says a Ghana Music Awards trophy is worth more than a Grammy or BET award

“I’ve received a Ghana Music Awards trophy, and it is worth more than a Grammy or BET award,” singer-songwriter Fameye has asserted.

He spoke to Nana Romeo on Accra 100.5 FM’s midmorning show, Ayekoo Ayekoo, on Wednesday, February 21, 2024.

Fameye, sometimes called Peter, remembered the days he had no hit songs and was unknown to the public; the days when he valued Grammy and BET awards above all others, as evidenced in his song Destiny.

Intimating he had reviewed his priorities, the music star noted how inspired he was watching Highlife and Hiplife greats like Kwaadee, Ofori Amponsah and Kwaw Kese, receive Ghana Music Awards back in the day.

These moments were a blessing to “the vision,” Fameye said.

“This is where I was born and raised. This is where I work, and this is where when I perform in my native language, my fans are excited. The support that has made me who I am came from this country. And it is when you have massive support from your home country that you can rise to those desired heights,” he doubled down.

He said it would even make a great impression when officials of the Recording Academy, organisers of the Grammys, come to Ghana and notice artistes like “Peter, Kwesi Arthur,” and others have prestigious national awards and are widely loved.

Fameye clarified he is not against winning a Grammy or BET.

He admitted: “If I get a Grammy or BET, I’d be glad but from now onwards, I’m saying Ghana Music Awards is heavier than the Grammys. So if I continuously win Ghana Music Awards and I move on to a Grammy and BET, my fans will be delighted.”

“Ultimately, these awards, embolden and arm your fans to defend your honour when someone belittles your talent or effort,” he added. “It makes them proud of us, and proud to associate with us.”

Concluding, he emphasized that whether he wins a Grammy in his lifetime or not, “I’m content.

“What’s more important is to win Ghana Music Awards.”

Fameye, a philosophical lyricist, was adjudged the Songwriter of the Year 2022 at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards for his megahit song Praise.

Why Hajia4Real Pleaded Guilty To Romance Scam.

0

It has emerged that influencer and musician Mona Faiz Montrage has pleaded guilty to participating in a money laundering scheme associated with romance scams. The scheme, orchestrated by a West African criminal enterprise, targeted vulnerable individuals, particularly older men and women, through romance scams.

Hajia4Real had initially pleaded not guilty to her involvement in an internet romance scam. But what could have made her change her mind? Hajia in all of her interviews before her arrest and extradition to the United States, had said she came by all her wealth through hard work. In such a high-profile case involving a known social media influencer, there are a few reasons that will force her to change her plea.

In the case of Mona 4 Real, a plea bargaining process may have been initiated by her defense team. Plea bargaining, in law, is the practice of negotiating an agreement between the prosecution and the defense whereby the defendant pleads guilty to a lesser offense or (in the case of multiple offenses) to one or more of the offenses charged in exchange for more lenient sentencing, recommendations, a specific sentence, or a dismissal of other charges.

Mona Faiz Montrage and her team may have thought of the money and time that was going to go into taking the whole case to trial. She will benefit in many ways including the following if she admits before a judge that she indeed had something to do with the case brought against her.

Multiple Grounds For Appeal: Mona will waive a few rights for pleading guilty but once convicted of her crimes, she has multiple avenues to appeal the conviction for a lesser sentence.

Known Trial Outcome: Pleading guilty will give Mona certainty for the convictions brought against her. Should she have opted to go for the full trial, the end would not been known. When she is found guilty on multiple grounds, her sentencing may be longer than the 5 years she’s looking to get.

Cost and Quicker resolution: With Mona’s accounts currently frozen and know properties under a tight grip, she may not have the financial means to go for a long trial. Once she has also confirmed giving “some” of the money back to the affected persons, she can get a quicker resolution to the trial without any long proceedings.

The downside of Mona’s current position is that she will have a criminal record to her name, she will be unable to defend herself otherwise of the crimes she’s been accused of, and her pride and state of innocence will be taken away from her.

The hope is that she endures all this and comes out as a reformed individual willing to put her influence into the good of society.

Hajia4Reall Pleads Guilty in $2 Million Romance Scam case

Ghanaian influencer, Mona Faiz Montrage, with around 3.4 million Instagram followers under the username “Hajia4Reall,” has pleaded guilty to participating in a money laundering scheme associated with romance scams. The scheme, orchestrated by a West African criminal enterprise, targeted vulnerable individuals, particularly older men and women, through romance scams.

The criminal enterprise operated from at least 2013 to 2019, deceiving victims into believing they were in romantic relationships. The scammers, assuming fake identities, used various channels such as emails, text messages, and social media to establish trust. Once trust was established, victims were manipulated into transferring money to accounts supposedly controlled by their romantic interests, which were, in reality, controlled by the criminal enterprise.

Montrage 31, was part of this criminal enterprise and received money from victims tricked into sending funds. The false pretenses used included payments for transporting gold to the U.S., resolving fake FBI investigations, and assisting a fictitious U.S. Army officer in receiving funds from Afghanistan. In total, she controlled bank accounts that received over $2 million in fraudulent funds.

She has pleaded guilty to one count of conspiring to receive stolen money, with a maximum sentence of five years in prison. Additionally, Hajia4reall has agreed to pay forfeiture totaling $2,164,758.41 and make restitution in the same amount. Sentencing will be determined by U.S. District Judge Paul A. Crotty.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation conducted the investigation, and the case is being prosecuted by the Office’s Complex Frauds and Cybercrime Unit, led by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Mitzi Steiner and Kevin Mead. Damian Williams, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, commended the outstanding work of the FBI in this case.
