Wanlov The Kuborlor explains why he thinks Kwaw Kese is the most problematic celebrity

Musician Wanlov the Kuborlor has designated Kwaw Kese as the most problematic celebrity he knows, conveying a blend of respect and disappointment.

In a recent interview with Quophi Okyeame on YouTube, Wanlov elaborated on his views.Wanlov, who looks up to Kwaw, shared his concerns about Kwaw’s actions, particularly regarding the LGBTQ+ community.

He mentioned, “The only person that I feel could do better, and I’ve had an exchange with on their social media page, not really in private, is Kwaw,” emphasizing that Kwaw is an artist he respects. Wanlov elaborated on witnessing Kwaw Kese’s online statements supporting the oppression of the LGBTQ+ community without acknowledging their humanity, stating, “I feel like Kwaw is well-traveled…he doesn’t have to be hateful or angry about a certain person’s lifestyle.”

Wanlov continued, “But it’s not something that’s a beef, and I feel it’s problematic because he’s making a lot of people in Ghana and in the world feel like they’re criminals or they’re not humans enough. I’m sure a lot of his fans are members of the LGBTQ community, and for him to approach this like that, it’s painful.”

Wanlov contrasted this with Blakk Rasta’s evolving tone, noting, Blakk Rasta has had a change in tone when addressing the LGBTQ+ community and matters relating to them because he’s beginning to “realize the humanity which is necessary for us to deal with each other.”
