I thought Delay had my back, but She Surprised Me – Yaw Dabo

0

Kumawood actor Yaw Dabo recounted a moment in his life that had left him disheartened – an encounter with Delay that involved a rejected sponsorship proposal.

Speaking in an interview with Zionfelix, the actor revealed that he had approached Delay with the intention of securing support for his team, hoping that she would endorse his venture.
Specifically, he sought sponsorship for 10 boxes of spaghetti each month. However, his aspirations were dashed when Delay informed him that she could not fulfill his request.

According to Yaw Dabo, Delay clarified that she sponsored two shows on TV3, which were Nana Ama McBrown’s Kitchen program and another unnamed program. She justified her decision by stating that they were not generating enough profit from the particular product, making it financially unviable for her to extend sponsorship to Yaw Dabo.

The actor articulated the emotional toll of such a rejection, emphasizing the pain of sacrificing for others, only to be let down when seeking reciprocation.

“You don’t rap about reality,” Shatta Wale criticizes Sarkodie and others

0

Dancehall artist, Shatta Wale, recently shared his thoughts on Ghanaian rappers.
He pointed out that new artists on TikTok are creating more meaningful lyrics compared to the established ones. Shatta Wale thinks these emerging talents focus on real-life topics like hustling, while established artists often tend to overly highlight their wealth and lavish possessions in their lyrics.

While not explicitly naming anyone, Shatta Wale attempted to mimic rapper Sarkodie, even incorporating lyrics related to “Panamera” from Sarkodie’s rap in Patoranking’s ‘No Kissing Baby.’ Sarkodie has frequently referenced Panamera in his songs, creating an association with the car, despite not actually owning one.

Shatta Wale also mentioned that these successful artists don’t take advice well and act like they know everything about music.

Shatta Wale, confident in his own success, bragged that his wealth makes him better than them. He boldly claimed he could outshine them with his money, suggesting he could metaphorically “kill” them in the competition.

Regrettably, Shatta Wale and Sarkodie collaborated on a track titled ‘Megye Wo Girl,’ where they sang about using their style and charisma to attract and steal other people’s girlfriends.

“Between You and LilWin, Who is the Fool Now?” – Twene Jonas Takes a Swipe at Martha Ankomah

0

Controversial, personality Twene Jonas publicly called out actress and fashion ambassador, Martha Ankomah for her decision to take legal action against LilWin after rejecting a role in a Kumawood movie.

According to LilWin, Martha had cited the perceived lack of quality storylines as her reason for declining to work with them.
In response, Twene Jonas labeled her a fool, expressing his view that she had missed out on a perfect opportunity that had now been handed to Nigerian actors, including Ramsey Noah and Awilo Sharp Sharp, who are expected to join Lil Win’s upcoming film project.

Jonas asserted that times have changed, emphasizing that the responsibility to shine now falls on Kumawood. He strongly criticized Martha’s choice to pass on the role, describing it as plain stupidity. He argued that the rejection of money, other people, and opportunities is a factor contributing to the struggles of black individuals, leading celebrities to become needy and beg for alms in their old age.

Twene Jonas painted a contrast with the work ethic abroad, suggesting that people living outside the country take on various jobs for financial stability, with the essential aspect being getting paid afterward. He further insinuated that Martha, when in need of money, relies on a man to provide for her and questioned the sustainability of this approach.

Continuing his commentary, Twene Jonas advised against rejecting money-making opportunities, emphasizing the importance of seizing financial prospects.

Meanwhile, Martha Ankomah responded to Lil Win’s allegations by taking the matter to court, vehemently denying the statements attributed to her. She filed a defamation case against Lil Win, seeking redress and clarifying that she did not make the remarks he accused her of.

The Labour (Amendment) Bill, 2023 has been introduced, proposing crucial changes to maternity and paternity leave policies.

Sponsored by National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament Francis-Xavier Sosu, the bill aims to extend maternity leave from three to four months, with an additional two weeks in specific cases.
Sosu emphasizes compassionate reforms, stating, “I request an amendment of Section 57(1) of the Labour Act to extend the period of maternity leave from 12 weeks to 16 weeks (three months to four months), with the option for additional two weeks in the case of caesarean, stillbirth(s) or multiple births, and to provide for related matters.” The bill also addresses the absence of specific provisions for women who experience pregnancy loss.

Notably, the proposal includes provisions for paid paternity leave for men for a minimum of seven days and a maximum period of four weeks, with the option of an additional two weeks in case of caesarean section, stillbirth(s), or multiple births of the spouse.
This paid paternity leave is intended to enable men to take care of their wives and assist new mothers with domestic chores during the critical postpartum period.
Aligning with global practices, this comprehensive bill reflects a progressive approach to family support and workplace policies.

Burna Boy is a Manchild, why not confront Davido directly and end the subs?- Baddie Kimmy K

0

Nigerian socialite Baddie Kimmy K sparked discussions as she candidly shared her views on Grammy Award-winning artist Burna Boy.
Kimmy K, during a discussion on Pulse Hot Takes, didn’t hold back as she described Burna Boy as a “man-child” rather than embracing his self-proclaimed “Odogwu” status.

The conversation delved into the genesis of Burna Boy’s apparent sensitivity, particularly triggered by a comment made by fellow artist Davido. During a previous interview, Davido acknowledged himself and Wizkid as pioneers who paved the way for the industry’s “new cats,” including Burna Boy. This reference seemed to strike a chord with Burna Boy, who responded indirectly on social media.

Kimmy K questioned Burna Boy’s approach to the situation, expressing bewilderment at his choice to engage in subtle online banter rather than addressing the issue directly with Davido.

“My thing with Burna Boy is that he calls himself an Odogwu but essentially at his core, he’s a man child. And we all know that that all new cats statement from Davido really hurt him.

“I mean as a man, why can’t you address him (Davido)? What’s with all the subs? That’s what I don’t understand with Burna Boy,” Kimmy K stated.

She specifically highlighted Burna Boy’s tendency to “throw subs and then hide his hand,” indicating a pattern of indirect communication.

Amidst the discussion, Kimmy K offered advice to Burna Boy, urging him to opt for mature and direct communication rather than perpetuating a cycle of online exchanges.

Comedian Waris Reveals His First Dollar Cash Out From Facebook. Huge.

0

Ghanaian comedian, Abdul Waris Umaru known best as Comedian Waris has said he was left in disbelief by his first income he made from Facebook due to content generation.

Speaking in an interview on The Afternoon Show on TV3, Comedian Waris noted that he had to withdraw the money and keep it until he was utterly convinced the money belonged to him.

“I never knew I could make [huge money from Facebook]. The first time I made a huge amount from Facebook it was like a dream. I was like is this my money? I had to withdraw and hold it before I was sure that it was my money,” he said.

“I know someone who has close to a million followers and all the money he is making in a month, close to twenty-two thousand US dollars they do not go in his pocket and he has been to every court and not getting the account, so protect your account,” he added.

Comedian Waris further advocated for education about the social media space and how it could benefit the youth stressing that “it is one of the best things that can happen to you.”

Aside from being a comedian, he is also a brand influencer for several brands but he believes that the technicalities that come along with the position make it complicated at times.

“Sometimes being an influencer is quite difficult. Coming to the understanding and all that and the things they need because companies do not understand they feel like you can flood your page with content just to publicise them for people. I will never post three content from a brand on my page in a day,” the content creator said.

According to him, his highest payment received from Facebook could be within the range of $9000.

Otto Addo leading Contender for the Ghana Coaching role

0

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is closing in on a new coach for the Black Stars, with Otto Addo emerging as the leading contender for the role.

According to sources close to 3Sports, Addo is in the lead for the job, although the GFA has yet to make an official announcement.

The vacancy arose after Chris Hughton’s disappointing tenure as coach of Ghana came to an end on January 23, 2024, with the GFA announcing his sacking along with the disbandment of his technical team.

The decision was expected, given the team’s poor performance at the Africa Cup of Nations, where they were eliminated in the first round.

Henry Asante Twum, Communications Director for the GFA, confirmed that the association is still in the process of selecting a new coach.

“Otto is a coach first of all and has coached us before,” he said to 3Sports in an exclusive interview.

“The search team have engaged coaches who did not even apply for the job. I want to believe that they are looking at competence, qualification, and availability.”

“They are looking at people who give us the result we are looking for. If in the minds of the committee, they think Otto is the right candidate for the job, I’m sure they will give reasons for that. At this particular moment, they are not done with the process.”

Other indigenous coaches, including Maxwell Konadu, George Boateng, and Michael Osei, have applied for the job and have undergone interviews.

However, if Addo were to be selected for the role, some might question whether he meets the criteria outlined by the GFA prior to the search.

The association had specified that it was seeking a coach with 15 years of experience and a track record of success.

Otto, who began his coaching career in 2010, doesn’t boast of an impressive resume as expected by the FA, with Ghana being the only top position he has occupied in the past.

He started at Hamburger SV U19 and was assistant coach at Nordsjaelland. The former Ghana international is currently a talent coach at Dortmund.

Asante Twum urged patience, saying, “Let’s just calm down. Let’s allow them to wrap up and when they are done with their work, they will submit their report to the Executive Council with reasons for each candidate they select in the pecking order.”

“Sometimes when you are going through these processes, you have your first choice, second choice, third choice, depending on preference and then also depending on demands and working conditions.”

Whoever takes on the role will have big shoes to fill, as the Black Stars have struggled in recent years, winning only two games in their last 12 major tournament matches.

They are currently ranked 67th in the world by FIFA and 14th in Africa.

Kenyan comedian Elsa Majimbo recently stirred controversy by making allegations against British model Naomi Campbell, a former close friend.
In an eight-minute video on social media, Majimbo claimed that a dispute over a documentary led to Campbell’s actions, causing her to struggle with alcoholism and depression.
