The Guinness World Record is gaining more interest in Ghana as renowned entrepreneur and television show host, Deloris Frimpong Manso, popularly known as Delay, has announced her desire to embark on a kissing marathon or “kiss-a-thon”.

In a hilarious post on her X handle, Delay said she would love to attempt a longest kissing marathon. She asked her fans to nominate a partner for her.

Her tweet was met with funny reactions from fans who attempted to name individuals who would be best for her.

“I want to do a Kiss-A-Thon, nominate my kissing partner. Please get me a good kisser,” she posted.

Recently, popular Kumawood actor Yaw Dabo called on Ghanaians to show him their unwavering support as he prepares to embark on a new world record for the longest kissing marathon. He stated that his kissing marathon will set a new Guinness World Record, as he is set to engage in non-stop kissing for a remarkable 30 days, equivalent to a staggering 720 hours.

Currently, Chef Failatu Abdul Razak is aiming to cook for 120 hours or more and has entered the 5th day clocking over 106 hours in an attempt to break the current Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon.

The current record is held by Alan Fisher from Ireland, who cooked for 119 hours and 57 minutes in 2023 after beating Nigerian Chef Hilda Baci’s 93-hour cook-a-thon record.

The event is currently taking place at the Modern City Hotel in Tamale. Chef Faila began her attempt on January 1, 2024, and is still going strong.

Before that was Afua Asantewa, who just completed her attempt at a Guinness World Record for the longest singing marathon.

Other Ghanaians have also announced their plans to attempt various records, such as the longest speech marathon, the most lipstick applications in 30 seconds, and the longest reading-aloud marathon.

Their announcements have attracted the attention and support of many social media users.

Meet James Kumbeni: The cyclist who rode 170kms from Bolga to Tamale to support Chef Faila’s cook-a-thon

James Kumbeni, a cyclist, rode a bicycle 170 kilometers from Bolgatanga, the Upper East Regional capital, to the Northern Regional capital, Tamale to show support for Chef Faila.

According to Mr. Kumbeni, his love for Chef Faila’s endurance has continued to grow watching her cook over the past few days “she has brought pride to Ghana,” adding that he rode “to support our sister.”

Chef Faila, real name Abdul-Razak Failaa is attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon.

Chef Faila is aiming to cook for 120 hours or more. The event is currently taking place at the Modern City Hotel in Tamale. Chef Faila began her attempt on January 1, 2024, and is still going strong.

She has cooked for over 106 hours. Chef Faila’s attempt to break the record is an inspiration to all aspiring chefs.

The current record is held by Alan Fisher from Ireland, who cooked for 119 hours and 57 minutes in 2023 after beating Nigerian Chef Hilda Baci’s 93-hour cook-a-thon record.

According to data released in December by the popular p0rn site, P0rnhub.com for the year 2023, Netizens in the Philippines took the longest to visit P0rnhub.com, averaging 11 minutes and 15 seconds per visit.

Additionally, the Philippines ranked as the second-largest global source of P0rnhub.com traffic, moving up three ranks from fifth last year.

Users in the Philippines spent the longest time per visit on P0rnhub.com, with each visit lasting an average of 11 minutes and 15 seconds, according to data published by the p0rn site in December.

The Philippines also made up the second biggest traffic source of P0rnhub.com in the world, rising three spots from last year’s fifth place.

P0rnhub did not release absolute numbers, but said the country is behind the United States, which took the top spot “by a landslide.”

Following the Philippines in the rankings of top traffic sources were, in order, France, Mexico, United Kingdom, Japan, Germany, Italy, Canada, and Brazil.

The Philippines and Japan were the only Asian countries in the top 20 with no African country making it into the top 20.

The leadership of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has appointed Afua Asantewaa O. Aduonum as tourism ambassador.

The appointment came on the heels of her exploits in the recently held Guinness World Record longest singing marathon (Singathon), an attempt by an individual at the Akwaaba Village in Accra.

The newly-appointee succeeded in clocking 126 hours 52 seconds over five days in her attempt with emphasis on Ghanaian songs.

Announcing the appointment on behalf of GTA CEO, Akwasi Agyemang,, Dr Agnes Adu, CEO of Ghana International Trade Fair Center commended Asantewaa highly for promoting Ghanaian songs with her attempt.

Afua Asantewaa expressed gratitude to the GTA for the honor and promised to help promote Ghanaian tourism.

” I am indeed honoured for this appointment, l will ensure that l will do my best to push the tourism agenda especially the domestic aspect higher,” said Asantewaa.

GWR: World’s oldest chicken, Peanut, dies aged 21

Guinness World Records is saddened to learn of the death of Peanut, the world’s oldest chicken.

Peanut passed away on Christmas Day at her home in Michigan, USA, aged at least 21 years 238 days old.

“Peanut was a close family member, and I’m grieving her loss,” wrote Peanut’s owner, Marsi Darwin, in a blog post announcing her hen’s passing.

“We bonded 21 and a half years ago when I peeled her out of an egg, and although I realize she had a phenomenally long life for a chicken, I’m heartbroken nonetheless.”

After being abandoned by her mother, Peanut spent the first two years of her life inside a parrot cage in Marsi’s dining room, before being moved to an outside coop with the rest of Marsi’s flock.

Peanut hatched multiple nests of eggs during her lifetime, and many of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren currently live in Marsi’s coop.

As she entered her old age, Peanut was moved back inside the house, where she shared a cage with her daughter, Millie.

Cook-a-thon: Nana Aba Anamoah applauds Northerners for their massive support to Chef Faila

Renowned Ghanaian broadcaster, Nana Aba Anamoah has praised the people in the Northern Region for how they have shown massive support to Chef Faila, who is aiming to break the longest cooking marathon record.

According to her, it is amazing how people who reside in the Northern part of the country unanimously support their own when it comes to competitions or any other representations in the country.

She stated that she is highly impressed with how the people in the Northern Region have rallied their support behind Chef Faila who is striving to break the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon.

An X account with the name Fati. Wrote, “If you ever doubted the support Tamale would have given Chef Faila, remember how Fancy Gadam won the most popular song over Patapaa. If there’s one thing in this world, it’s Northerners supporting their own.”

In response to the tweet, Nana Aba Anamoah agreed with her assertion stating, “This is a fact. When it’s not their own too, they still support with their hearts and souls. I love them.”

Chef Faila has received tremendous support since she began her cook-a-thon attempt with the venue being filled crowd who cheer her on in the course of the contest.

Celebrities such as Yaw Dabo, Kwabena Kwabena, Fancy Gadam and politicians including Haruna Iddrisu and Murtala Mohammed have visited her to show their support.

Over in the north, Chef Failatu Abdul Razak started an attempt to break the current Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon.

She aims to clock a 120-hour cook-a-thon with the event hosted at the Modern City Hotel in Tamale.

Mr. Logic reveals why Shatta Wale always insults Sarkodie

Entertainment pundit and music producer, Mr Logic has alleged that controversial dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has always wanted to be the one achieving what BET Award winner Sarkodie does with his music career.

Kaakie announces return to the music scene

Multiple award-winning dancehall songstress, Grace Kaki Awo Ocansey popularly known as Kaakie has dsiclosed that she is coming back to do music.

In 2018, Kaakie left the shores of Ghana to further her studies in the United States of America.

Kaakie later got married in a traditional ceremony on January 2, 2020.

This was after her contract with renowned Ghanaian Sound Engineer/Executive Producer, JMJ Baby (Joshua Raphaelson)’s Xtra Large Music  was terminated.

Speaking in an interviewon Accra-based 3FM, she indicated that she was returning to the music industry.

Kakie who doubles as a Midwife said she has received support from her husband and other industry players, and she believes she will come and take her place in the music industry.

“Actually I came in purposely…So by God’s grace, I’m coming back to the scene, and we are working hard. I haven’t just been silent. I have been working behind the scenes and I haven’t been alone. I’ve had genuine support from my husband; he’s been pushing me, and I’ve also met people that were in the scene,” she said.

2023 AFCON: SuperSport will not broadcast after losing rights to New World TV

Multichoice, owners of Digital Satellite Television (DStv), has announced that sports channel SuperSport will not broadcast the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations tournament which is set to take place in Ivory Coast between January and February.

According to Multichoice, SuperSport TV viewers will not get to see the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations on their screens after Multichoice could not secure broadcast rights after they lost the bid to a Togo-based broadcaster.

The Multichoice-owned sports network has been one of the most reliable and regular broadcaster of all African competitions over the years, but of late, they have shown less appetite in displaying Caf competitions.

SuperSport were not keen on showing the newly launched African Football League where South African based side Mamelodi Sundowns claimed the inaugural crown.

The Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has extended financial support of GH₵30,000 to Chef Abdul-Razak Failatu, otherwise known as Jah Bless Faila to add fuel to her ambitious flame during her attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon.

Hon. Shani Alhassan Saibuhe, the Northern Regional Minister made this announcement while speaking to the media at the Modern City Hotel in Tamale, where the marathon is currently taking place.

Northern Regional Minister Shani Alhassan Saibu who represented the Vice President Dr Mahamadu Buwumia donated an amount of GH₵30,000 on behalf of him.

“We are here to donate GH₵30,000 from the Vice president to aid her in her ambition to break the Guinness World Record,” he said on January 1, 2023,” he said.

The minister hailed Chef Failatu’s initiative as a delicious way to put the Temale on the map and prove that the region has so much to offer in terms of hospitality.

“This proves that our region brims with hospitality and culinary wonders,” he declared, underscoring the Vice President’s support for this bold endeavour.

The marathon, spanning from January 1 to 5, 2024, is Chef Failatu’s determined effort to surpass the existing record of 119 hours and 57 minutes set last year by Ireland’s Alan Fisher, who surpassed the renowned Hilda Baci’s record.

Veteran Ghanaian comedian and media personality, Kwaku Sintim-Misa, popularly known as KSM, has subtly slammed the Vice President and the Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr Mahamadu Bawumia, who has paraded himself as “religion prostitute” and using religion as his campaign strategy for the coming general election this year.

The “KSM Show” host took to his X handle on January 1, to comment on about the 2024 general elections.

According to him, he does not care about the religion or the region of the politician, but rather their track record of performance and achievements.

He said he wants to see evidence of what the politician has done or can do for the nation, and not just empty promises or rhetoric.

“If you want my VOTE, don’t tell me about your RELIGION, Don’t tell me about the REGION you come from. Who cares?? Just SHOW ME YOUR TRACK RECORD,” he posted.

His tweet has generated a lot of reactions from his followers, some of whom agreed with him and others who challenged him.

Some of them asked him to name the politicians who have met his criteria, while others accused him of being biased or hypocritical.

KSM is known for his outspoken and satirical views on various social and political issues in Ghana.
