Ghanaian rapper, Sarkodie has been hit with a tragedy as his lawyer, Cynthia Quarcoo Esq has been reported dead.

Cynthia Quarcoo Esq, widely called Maa C or Auntie Cynthia, a renowned legal practitioner, died yesterday, June 21, 2023, after battling a long illness. The cause of her death has not yet been disclosed.

Lawyer Cynthia owned CQ Legal, a boutique law firm that specializes in entertainment, sports, and media law based in Accra, founded in 2015. She was the founder of Africa 1 Media, a talent management and public relations firm, and also worked with some of the biggest names in the industry.

Cynthia Quarcoo Esq, an outspoken lawyer has also made several appearances as a panellist across a number of TV and Radio stations in Ghana.

She was born in Accra, Ghana, in 1970. She studied law at the University of Ghana and went on to work as a lawyer in private practice.

Auntie Cynthia was a highly respected lawyer who again represented a number of high-profile clients, including Rocky Dawuni, Stonebwoy, Bisa Kdei, Samini, Edem, Stephanie Benson and Reggie Rockstone. She was also the legal advisor to the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA).

In addition to her work in the entertainment industry, the late renowned lawyer also served as co-counsel for the Ministry of Finance on the successful 2021 and 2020 USD 3 billion Government of Ghana (GOG) Sovereign Bonds.

Her death is a great loss to the Ghanaian entertainment industry and to the legal profession.
