Sarkodie should watch out for dangerous lyricists Amerado and Strongman, Fredyma warns

Music producer Fred Kyei Mensah recently made a bold statement, asserting that rap sensations Amerado and Strongman pose the most significant challenge to Sarkodie’s dominance in the rap scene.

Speaking on Accra FM’s Entertainment Capital, he warned that Sarkodie should be wary of these two artists, describing them as “poisonous cobras” with exceptional lyricism and dangerous skills. Fredyma emphasized that while Sarkodie excels in fast-paced rap, Amerado and Strongman surpass him in lyrical depth and conceptualization.

“Amerado and Strongman – Sarkodie should watch out for those two. They are poisonous cobras.

“I’ve carefully examined and decoded their lyricism and all. They are more than cobras – dangerous guys. Amerado and Strongman, Ghana should watch out for them.”

Fredyma noted that while Sarkodie’s strength lies in his fast-paced rap, Amerado and Strongman excel in crafting intricate lyrics, stating, “Their mastery of words and conceptualization is truly impressive. I enjoy listening to such artists – including Eno Barony and others.”

The sound engineer also shared that he listens to these artists to stimulate his creativity. Evaluating the nominees for the 2024 Telecel Ghana Music Awards’ Best Rap Performance, Fredyma acknowledged Lyrical Joe’s talent, despite predominantly rapping in English, and commended Medikal’s captivating rap style. However, he stressed that Amerado and Strongman surpass them in terms of lyrical prowess.

Last year, Amerado claimed the Best Rap Performance title at the Ghana Music Awards. Six months later, he dropped his chart-topping track “Kwaku Ananse,” collaborated with Fameye (Peter) on a remix, and released “Abronoma”.

Strongman, often nominated but never winning Best Rap, continues to make his mark. Amerado’s storytelling and Strongman’s wordplay have solidified their status as promising rap artists.
