Shatta Wale Started as a Gong Gong Beater on My Show – Maame Dokono

Maame Dokono has opened up about her contribution to the success stories of numerous Ghanaians during her distinguished acting career.

In an interview on Happy FM, the actress, known as Grace Omaboe, disclosed that her generosity extended beyond the entertainment industry to include individuals in corporate and medical sectors. While not providing specific details, Maame Dokono cited Asamoah Gyan, the legendary Ghanaian footballer, and Shatta Wale, the acclaimed musician, as recipients of her assistance.

“I’ve supported many individuals in this country. Asamoah Gyan and Shatta Wale are among those I’ve aided. Shatta Wale, at one point, received guidance from me. Some beneficiaries include professionals in banking and medicine, among others. My motivation was to alleviate suffering,” she shared.

During a 2018 interview on TV3, Maame Dokono expanded on her involvement in nurturing Shatta Wale’s talent, explaining that she offered him opportunities on the popular show “By The Fire Side.”

“Shatta Wale started as a gong-gong beater on By the Fireside… he’s just one of the many individuals I’ve assisted,” she explained.
