The Book Year? Ceccy Twum hints at writing a book about her life

Renowned Ghanaian contemporary gospel singer and songwriter, Ceccy Twum, real name as Ceccy Abena Ampratwum has hinted that she is planning to write and release a book about her struggles in life.

According to the singer she faced a very difficult life during childhood, and has a lot to tell about her upbringing as well as her music career so she’s also going to put in a book as her colleague entertainers like Yvonne Nelson, Adjetey Anang among others have done to tell their stories via memoir.

“I had a very difficult childhood..Yes, I will write my own book because growing up wasn’t easy, I have been through a lot but we don’t look like what we’ve been through,” she said.

In addition to the struggles she encountered during her childhood days, Ceccy asserted that the book will also cover her rise to fame as a gospel minister. She explained that she is still in the early stages of writing her book, but she hopes to release it in the near future.

Who’s Ceccy Twum?

Ceccy was born to the family of Mr. and Mrs. Andoh in Accra, Ghana. She is married to Prophet Alex Twum and they have three children. Ceccy Twum started her primary school education at the Don Bosco Catholic Primary and Junior high in Winneba and proceeded to Snapps College for her senior high education in Accra.

Music career

Ceccy Twum released her first album “Me Gyefo ne Yesu” in 2005, which shot her into the limelight. She has collaborated and performed on major platforms with several gospel musicians, including Mercy Chinwo, Joe Mettle, Ohemaa Mercy, MOG Music, Joyce Blessing, Nathaniel Bassey, Sinach, Frank Edwards, Empress Gifty.

Ceccy has many hits songs including “Victory”, “Di Wo Hene”, “Your Grace”, “Amen”. In 2018 her major hit single Jehovah earned her a nomination at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards as the Gospel song of the year.

She was also nominated for Artiste Of Excellence West Africa at the African Music And Media Awards.

Ceccy hosts an annual Gospel event titled Gold Worship which gathers believers from all walks of life to worship together.
