Was it necessary? Look before you leap – Fredyma advices Patience Nyarko

Music Producer/sound engineer, Fred Kyei Mensah popularly known as Fredyma has waded into the seeming tension between Gospel musicians, Patience Nyarko and Joe Mettle.

In a long write up on Facebook, Uncle Freddy said as an elder in the industry, he tries as much as possible to bring creative people together.

According to him, he believes the beef between the two Gospel musicians started when Patience Nyarko lost one of the gospel categories at the VGMA to Joe Mettle.

In his post, he advised Patience Nyarko telling her that her utterances about Joe Mettle sampling old Pentecost and Methodist songs were not necessary.

WAS IT NECESSARY? LOOK BEFORE YOU LEAP.
As an elder in the creative sector, i always try to bring creative people together. We the producers, sound engineers are the first point of call to the most of musicians who start their music journey. We groom them and bring them to the fore.

For the past week there have been challenging times amongst some musicians showing their lyrical prowess in what it is termed in our local parlance as “beefs”. Sometimes, some of the words used are very strong but, we consider it as one of the industry hazards. It didn’t start today and it’s not going to end now. It brings controversies, false competition and sometimes the hidden talents out.

Yesterday on Onua fm hosted by the indefatigable Frimpong Agyei Christian, my lovely niece, Patience Nyarko made a statement while making her point on music compositions and other related topics. Joe Mettle was sitting his somewhere boiling water in his kettle without meddling in anyone’s little arguments.

All of a sudden my lovely niece Patience Nyarko, threw a heavy music bomb on the personality of Joe Mettle. I suspect her “beef” with Joe stems from some few years ago when she lost to Joe on one of the VGMA gospel categories. On several platforms and occassions i sometimes meet her and she’s never forgiven Joe on that but, yesterday’s own was gargantuan.

Watching the video and her demeanor at the Onua fm studios and her submissions, she should have been circumspect in her choice of words. To say that Joe Mettle can’t write his own songs and as such if the Orthodox and Pentecostal churches ban anyone from using their compositions, he would suffer and he hasn’t reached any international standard and that she and others write their own songs. Wow! That was way below the belt.

Let’s forgive my beautiful niece for she goofed big time. I have supported her as i have done to others since we met in the studios of ATV/GNTV morning show hosted by the ever beautiful Annie Ampofo some 7 years where Ahuma Bosco Ocansey and Halidu Haruna of the NDC were on the program.

My advice to Patience Nyarko is, yes there are controversial issues in our music productions which we discuss to find better solutions. She should be mindful of her choice of words when dealing with industry folks. Talents are soul driven and no one can bring anyone’s God given blessings down.

Beloved let us love. Patience, be patient when patiently making a potential point so it doesn’t let someone suffer a heart attack to be a patient in the hospital. Lol
