Afua Asantewaa clarifies the reason she didn’t inform Ghanaians about the verdict of her singathon

Media personality, Afua Asantewaa Aduonum responded to concerns regarding her awareness of Guinness World Records’ verdict before the social media revelation.
She explained that she received the verdict while preparing to host a gala dinner and the launch of the Lebanese Scholarship Alumni Network. This constrained schedule led to her delay in informing the public until after GWR’s announcement. She intends to unveil her next steps in the coming days.

In a Facebook post, she shared, “The news of the outcome of my Sing-a-thon attempt came a few minutes as I was preparing to host a gala dinner and the launch of the Lebanese Scholarship Alumni Network attended by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. I would announce my next line of action in a few days. Thank you all for your love and support. When life hands you lemons, turn them to lemonade. Success is sweetest when snatched out of the jaws of defeat. #PressingOn #BouncingBackBetter #SingathonReattempt #GreaterGrace #StrengthFromLovedOnes.”

Guinness World Records made the confirmation while responding to an inquiry on social media. This was after Aduonum’s payment for an expedited review. They expressed appreciation for the inspiration she provided despite falling short, with her effort lasting an impressive 126 hours, surpassing the previous record of 105 hours.
It’s important to note that the evidence check had commenced before her request for priority service, resulting in a refund of her payment earlier in the month. In their statement, GWR wished Aduonum the best for any future record endeavors, commending her resilience in the face of this setback.
