An eight-member delegation from the Assemblies of God Church, led by the General Superintendent of the church in Ghana, Rev. Dr. Stephen Wengam, on February 15, 2023, called on Rt. Hon. Speaker, Alban Sumana Bagbin in Parliament.
The purpose of the visit was to officially introduce the newly elected executives of the church to the Speaker and to invite Mr. Speaker to their induction ceremony.
Mr. Speaker, welcoming the delegation, emphasized the need for the church and the state to partner to lead the people to better prospects of life.
He indicated that Parliament is doing all it can to represent the citizenry and that the church also has a responsibility to crack the whip when needed.
The team was elected on August 4, 2022 at the 30th Biennial General Council meeting.
