Chef Smith Wraps Up Guinness World Record Cook-a-thon Today

Millennium Chef, also known as Chef Smith, is set to bring his cooking marathon to a close today, Wednesday, March 6, 2024.
The culinary journey began on February 1 at the Amadia Shopping Center in Spintex, Accra.
The concluding event will take place at the same venue, concluding at 10 am, followed by an after-party at 6 pm, coinciding with Ghana’s Independence Day celebration.

The initial intention was to conclude the marathon after 360 hours, equivalent to 15 days. However, he had an excess of culinary capacity to sustain cooking throughout the entire month of February.

Throughout the marathon, Chef Smith received growing support from notable figures such as comedians, artists, media personalities, and individuals who contributed through donations and encouragement.
To enhance the overall experience, various engaging events, including musical chairs, dance battles, live match streaming, music performances by celebrities, and a fashion show, have been organized to attract a larger audience and keep them entertained.

The inspiration for this culinary feat comes from Hilda Baci’s record-breaking cooking marathon. Despite the challenges, Chef Smith’s determination has led to a steadily growing support base, and the goal is to create a vibrant atmosphere throughout the culinary endeavor.

Chef Smith encountered difficulties gaining approval for the event, ultimately moving it to February 2024 following unsuccessful attempts in July and September 2023. The objective is to surpass Beauty Obasuyi’s 448-hour record, with confirmation pending from Guinness World Records. Worth noting, Chef Alan Fisher presently holds the record at 119 hours and 57 minutes.
