Cookathon: “You’re a winner every day and a role model for the North.” – Chef Malik to Faila

Chef Faila’s sous chef, Malik Eric, acknowledged Guinness World Records’ decision on Faila’s attempt, emphasizing her role model status for the youth in the North.
Despite the outcome, he expressed sincere gratitude for the invaluable experience of being her assistant chef during the 10-day cooking marathon.

In a thoughtful Facebook post, he acknowledged Faila’s exceptional qualities, stating, “Not the results we wanted but Failatu Abdul-razak you are a winner every day and a Role Model for a lot of young people, especially from the North. You did something that has never been done before. Thank you for the opportunity.”

Chef Faila revealed the outcome on March 3, 2024, attributing the failure to a violation of rest break regulations. Nevertheless, she expressed sincere gratitude to sponsors, partners, and fans for their unwavering support.

Chef Faila kicked off her ambitious cooking marathon on January 1, 2024, initially aiming to wrap it up by January 5th. Yet, fueled by remarkable tenacity, she extended the marathon to January 10th, ultimately clocking an impressive 227 hours. Her outstanding effort not only showcased skillful plating but also highlighted the vibrant cultural heritage of Tamale. Esteemed figures, including Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and former First Lady Lordina Mahama, rallied behind her in the spirited community of Tamale.
