Funny Face Granted GH₵120,000 Bail

Actor and comedian Funny Face, born Benson Nana Oduro, has been granted bail amounting to GH₵120,000 along with two sureties on Tuesday, April 9.

Having been arrested on March 24 for colliding with five pedestrians using his Hyundai Atos car on the same night, Funny Face found himself confronted with charges of drunk driving. Subsequently, he was remanded for two weeks before being granted release from detention. Reflecting on his actions during an interview with Kofi TV, Funny Face expressed deep regret and took full responsibility for the accident. He humbly sought forgiveness from the public, acknowledging the profound impact of his behavior on others.

He shared, “I have caused problems for myself. All that I went through, I cannot blame anybody. I am the major cause of my problem. At times you do things and people get tired of your actions, that is the level I have gotten to but nobody will understand what you are going through.

“Not everyone can survive what I have been through, If I have been able to go through all these unfortunate events and God has kept me alive, I thank Ghanaians. In this life it is only God.”

Following his breakup with Vanessa in 2021, the comedian has faced numerous public outbursts and misconducts, leading to stints in prison and treatment at the Accra Psychiatric Hospital. He has contemplated suicide and engaged in conflicts with mentors and colleagues in the entertainment industry. Accessing his children post-separation has been challenging, potentially contributing to his distress.

However, he now aims to focus on rebuilding his career.
