Assistant Coach of Sekondi Eleven Wise, Acquah Harrison has expressed his disappointment over Accra Hearts of Oak lost to West African Football Academy (WAFA) last Saturday at Sogakope.
WAFA ended Accra Hearts of Oak’s unbeaten away record in the Ghana Premier League (GPL) this season with humiliating 3-0 thrashing in their fortress at Sogakope, the capital of South Tongu District of the Volta Region.
The former rainbow player said he was shocked when his former darling club was soundly beaten in the week 23 of the Ghana premier league.
“I can tell you that I was shocked and I could not believe that my former club would go down like that, especially looking at their current form and position on the league log” Bismark Kwaku Sarpong told Onua Sports in an interview.
Acquah Harrison explained that his disappointment was stemmed out of the fact that his former club in recent times seem to be doing well with many bright chances of winning the league this season but could not comprehend what went wrong.
“That day I was in fact on the field with my boys but still following the game between WAFA and Hearts and I was greatly disappointed and devastated, how Hearts…” he painfully recalled.
Acquah Harrison was instrumental in some of the success stories of the Phobia side. He was part of the Phobia boys in 2004 when Hearts played in the finals of CAF Confederations Cup with their arch rivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko, which saw the Rainbow stars won on penalties.
Meanwhile the last Saturday’s win did not only end Hearts of Oak’s enviable unbeaten away record this season, but has since left them in second place with 39 points, a position which pundits of the game think the team may not keep for long if management does not up their game.
Acquah Harrison concluded that Hearts of Oak should be aware that they are competing with former champions Kumasi Asante kotoko and defending Champions Ashgold in the Ghana premier league.
“Hearts need to plan for the rest of their away matches to enable them win this year’s League, I said so because I’m a fun of Phobia and Sekondi Hasaacas.”
The phobians will lock horns with Techiman City at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday in week 24 of the Ghana premier League.
