Local languages will be utilized in Parliament

Parliament plans to integrate local languages in sessions to uphold Ghanaian culture.
Order 63 permits MPs to use local languages with translation. Starting in the second meeting of the fourth session, this initiative aims to foster cultural diversity.
Speaker Alban Bagbin assures the availability of necessary facilities, such as translators and gadgets, for a seamless launch post-Easter break. The decision follows discussions led by MP Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, advocating for Nzema language preservation.
The Speaker has forwarded the matter to committees on Education, Culture, Tourism, and Finance. This aligns with Parliament’s recent adoption of new Standing Orders, enhancing accountability and patriotism through daily roll call and national pledge recitation among MPs.
